Smoke?

Did anyone see Bethal lately and say to yourself "That kid is carry a ton of bad weight?"

At DT??? Kid is a 3-4 strong side end. He’s just trying to survive out there. He’s 285 max. Are you basing that him rolling up his jersey to show off his stomach like his peers. Come on man.

Bethel would've had a sack had he not been held. I don't think he's carrying bad weight at all

Both Willis and McIntosh played last year somewhere between 280 and 290. Bethel is plenty big enough now and he'll only get stronger going forward.

I mean they all seem more like tweeners (Viper position in our D) rather than a SDE like Chad/DJ

Our sde position is set with djax, dj johnson, and tyreic Martin who will be a swing guy like chad Thomas and djax.

Tyreic Martin isn't the same position as Thomas and DJax. Where do you get this from?

Trust me, tyreic Martin isn't strong enough to be an every down dt, but he's plenty big to set the edge as an sde. He will be a swing tackle playing sde on running downs and a slashing 3 on passing downs.
I was the first to call the bethel to dt move. I will be the first to call this move as well.
Kul is a master at mixing and matching his personnel.

A lot of people saw Bethel moving to DT, I was one of the one's also that saw it coming. Martin's already over 280 lbs.

He's not playing because he's just not that good right now.

Edit: Also, I'm curious as to how you've come to this evaluation given that Martin hasn't even seen the field yet.

No he's not playing because he's not strong enough, Kul mentioned it in an interview in the spring. But if you saw his highlight reels, you would know that the kid can set the edge as a sde.

Kul is gonna put him where he'll must likely succeed, instead of continuing to smash a round peg into a square hole.

Martin is not a d end. Stop. You’re fb analysis and acumen is terrible. It’s like you're trying to be terrible.
He’s not a d end here. How do u know Martin doesn’t have the strength? Just b/c he doesn’t have the strength doesn’t mean he moves to d end. He’s a dt here.

And what is the viper position at UM? Are you making this up?

Joe Jackson is the Viper. Both Kool and Diaz have referenced it before.

As for Martin, no way he’s a DE. Need more speed outside in this scheme. JJax, Garvin, DJax, DJ J, Patchan (played 3 snaps at DE Sat.), Rousseau, probably Chatfield, plenty of athletic bodies there.

maybe in your mind..you do know this board has been around before your join date of a few months ago, right?

Martin came in as a dt and will remain a dt. Just b/c you think he lacks strength isn’t gonna make him a d end here. He played dt in hs, was recruited as a dt and has played nothing but dt here. Kid will need to make the jump this year and be asked to give us some quality depth and mins here or he’ll get buried on depth chart. One thing he won’t be is a d end here.

What is the viper? A d end? It isn’t some special position lol.

Guess we whiffed on Peters

This board has become insufferable

It's a pretty valid claim. We were going after Peters as our 2nd LB, he hasn't committed yet. We gave this kid an offer 2 weeks before signing day, and we hadn't really been recruiting him until now.

You don't offer someone this late in the game for funsies. You do it because you have a spot to fill at a position, and your previous target isn't looking so likely to sign

There's complaining about ****, and then there's the reality of situations. Whether we whiffed on Peters or not, who knows. But it isn't looking good
