Guys nobody heard of. Nobody recruited.

All 4 are the best at their respective positions as it stands right now.(DT, WR, CB, OLB) And not due to lack of competition, but because they are legitimately performing very well during camp and conditioning drills.

Armbrister a bit because of injuries but was performing well enough to crack two deep before all the injuries at LB

This is starting to look like the 1990's....Butch built the program with players that he liked, but weren't necessarily high profile recruits

Scott and Armbrister aren't the best at their positions. Gunter and Smith are a stretch as well.

Smith has already proven to be a nice find and should be a quality player for us this year.

Scott, Gunter, and Armbrister need to prove it on the field first but I liked what I saw from Scott and Gunter in the Spring. Not sure I hope Armbrister is starting just yet (he just moved to LB) but hope he can give us some quality PT

None of these guys have done a **** thing yet. Not saying they won't, but as of right now and today, what are we getting all happy about?

Nice to see guys the coaching staff targeted step up and contend for starting spots. You hate when you see a "reach" and the kid never sniffs the field. Too many of those these last few years.

You know that thing that The Wolf says in Pulp Fiction when Jules and Vincent start thinking they are free and clear? That's exactly how I feel about this.

I surely hope that their practice performance can translate to Saturdays, but these guys are total unknowns right now. I am cautiously optimistic though.

All of them are showing positives but nothing to get excited about... And none of them are considered to be the best at their positions... Scott isnt better than Hurns and Smith isnt better than Porter... Thurmbister just moved to linebacker and received reps after a slew of injuries and Gunter is still an unknown... Its good that they are receiving reps and contributing but they havent proven a thing yet... Especially on d-line when we are giving up 80 plus runs every scrimmage...

Our 1981 team hadn't done a **** thing either.

Our 1982 team hadn't done a **** thing either.

Our 1983 team - with a redshirt freshman quarterback - we won a national championship.

Chill. It's coming.

Already been through this same crap twice.
