Significant game for Golden

This is the game Golden needs to win as a coach.

I know we are young, our upper classmen aren't talented, and only half of these players are Golden's players.

However, we are playing a medicore team at home, in primetime, and if we win this game we have a great chance of winning the division.

I think that it seems pretty certain that Golden is a leader, who can build a program and develpoment talent but the one big question mark is his actual game day coaching/prepping.

Virginia Tech does not have more talent than us. We are at home. This is the game where we need Golden do deliver us a win.....he deserves it and so do we as fans.

The difference between "those" games and this one is this game will put us in the best position since joining the ACC to win the coastal. The other games(bc, nc state) we have won in previous seasons, but we haven't won a game in the ACC that basically puts us in the championship game.

This is an opportunity that we are beyond lucky to have. Must capitalize on it. We have lost this type of game for the last 7 years.
 
Maybe in the short term for us fans. In the long term this game is fairly meaningless IMO. Of course I'm also one of the people that thinks we self impose even if we win the Coastal.

In the short term it's very important to a young team IMO.

I hear you I just think with a group like this that will be around for years, coming up big in a situation like this can only make them better. Not only that but we need to beat VT for a change.
 
Any Canes fan who doesn't hate VT needs to pay closer attention. I want this one bad.

This. Also, I agree with what seems to be the general consensus. This is a MASSIVE MASSIVE game for this coach and this program. A turning point. If we lose, we will finish with 6 or 7 losses, have negative momentum heading into the offseason before the NCAA hits us which will really hamper our ability to close strong with this recruiting class. On the other hand, if we can win this one, turn the tide a little bit, then keep it rolling for the next 3 winnable games and end this season at 8-4 with tons of momentum going into the offseason we will come out firing next year September 7 against the Gaytah.

MUST WIN.

Gotta get this one. NEED to get this thing rolling towards the end of the year to carry momentum into Signing Day, 2013. Win this, and I think we win out. 8-4 with this bunch would be massive. MASSIVE!!!

As you may be able to tell, I'm fired up for this one.
 
Another thing I almost forgot about is the trash talking on signing day by Beamer after we stole Blue and Lockhart from him.

Winning the Coastal, even if we self impose, would be huge. We've never won it and it's one of the knocks against Miami since joining the ACC. This is Golden's biggest game so far.
 
A 4 game losing streak heading into Virginia would spell disaster for Golden
 
I agree. It's not so much the team as the situation. Miami has flopped for this game ever since joining the ACC.
