SIAP TAMU receiver offered $600,000 for his committment

I think of a nfl team yearly salary. College brings in as much or close to as much revenue , then add in wealthy booster just ready to contribut. Sounds legit to me. One time fee of 300,000 is pennies to what a top notch recruit might bring through wins. Heck that is below the league minimum , and it is only a one time fee.

As for the $300,000.00, do you think 1 WR can change a game that much to be worth a one time fee of that amount. There are a few players who have had that much impact by themselves on the game.

Cam Newton is one of them and he allegedly made $150,000.00. Cam Newton played 1 year at Auburn too. A WR isn't worth that much and that doesn't guarantee any success either.

FYI....You think NFL Revenues and College Revenues are the same. It's not close AT ALL.

i call bs for a lot of reasons. one, the father is claiming he didn't take it...lol. if that's the case why draw attention to your son that way? secondly, his son is an ok receiver, certainly not a once every decade type prospect. **** adrian peterson, cam newton, reggie bush, etc. didn't even command that type of money but i'm supposed to believe this guy commanded $600k? i recall a story with bush talking about his recruiting experience and he stated he was offered about 50k and a car. pat peterson supposedly got 30k. i'm sorry this guy's story doesn't even sound remotely credible.

What did you guys pay cam newton?

Without even clicking on the link. Do you really think the uf or fsu, alabama, michagin , texas or any other operate in the red or even close to it? Maybe on paper. But the football teams produce 100 fold.
Especially with things like the big 10 network.

You are wrong.

The Raiders made the least amount of revenue at $229 Million

University of Texas made the most revenue of any college team at $133 Million.

That is a difference of $96 Million.

Clicked on the link. You prove my point. That is the value or numbers we are talking in big time college football. Colleges make money the same way pro does. Accept no players to play, just throw them in a class with 100 others

The concept is the same, the numbers are not close at all.

Here is your quote, it is not close.

College brings in as much or close to as much revenue

That is on paper probably funding half the other college athletics

Ok sooo 300,000 or even 1,000,000 annually to recruits is not a lot of money

It's a lot of money to us.
That's the crazy thing about our situation.
Compared to the big state schools in the SEC and big 10 and big 12, we are just poor amateurs at hooking up players.
Shapiro wouldn't even have been considered a serious booster in Baton Rouge, Tuscaloosa, Austin or......,GAINESVILLE.
Uncle Luke and Shapiro giving out a c note for a big hit, some dinners, hookers and bowling and pool tournaments is nothing compared to duffel bags of cash, no show jobs, cars, houses, monthly stipends for family members.

Should of just given him a couple million and a new laptop.
He might not have fuucked up and stayed on your team.

Where did you find this bullshiitstats.gov?

Well just use your 133 mill

Are you retarded?

Just use common sense. A university has 1.)85 players it literally pays pennies for food and lodging.
2.) coaches routinely make less
3.)ticket sales are usually better (although less games)
4.)have no idea about tv deals , but I am sure they are Comparable. If not still huge number.
5.) bowl games
6.) same as nfl jerseys or team apparel.

Yea ,keep believing a universitys numbers on its football team.

So the point we are arguing is. A university with a little help from boosters could easily drop 300,000 on a recruit.

Also just using common sense a nfl team makes huge profits with huge salaries to players and coaches With less attendance in many cases.

I am not going to go round and round. I am not saying it couldn't be done, I just don't believe it is WORTH $300,000 on a WR. Good luck in the upcoming fiscal year.
