SIAP: Never hated Teddy until tonight

Jeff Greer ‏@jeffgreer_cj 17h

Teddy apologizes to #Canes fans for the throat slash. "I felt like I was out of line for doing that."

interesting. Question to me is did he really feel that way, or did someone say something to him about it afterwards?

It was in the formal press conference. He was sitting next to Strong, and it was the first thing Teddy said. Draw your own conclusions.

Lol at the hypocrites on this site. Mad cuz Teddy B got off and was celebrating. Prolly were the same guys yelling we back after our team was stomping on that blow up gator at the end of the gators game. Teddy B wasn't out of line at all SWAG it out young man oh and the long passes at the end of game were to get teddy a big play so he could go out to a standing ovation. Y'all watch the game or do you just skim thru it

Did you just get hyped from a guy who disrespected your team? What kind of Cane fan are you?

Did I say I got hyped? I said Teddy B got in our *** and earned every taunt he wanted to throw our way. Lemme put it like this if roles were reversed and morris was destroying Louisville and did a gesture that resembled a bird and then a throat slash would there be uproar or praise of the gesture?

You don't have to say it in those words for it to be obvious. Did you cheer him on as he did the slash? I already said, if this were a UM kid, I would be hyped. Does this mean I can't get mad at a dude who is disrespecting us, especially a kid who was supposed to be a fan of Miami, the hometown guy, and friend of some of these other players it seems. If you punked some dude out and got hyped, would you congratulate him later for punking you because he earned it?

I'm convinced your not even reading what you're typing lol. Your explanation is proving my point of you being a hypocrite. Your logic is also flawed because as him being a UL player and his emotion getting the best of him he reacted nothing wrong with that at all. You just want to cry foul. I question if many of y'all ever played competitive sports

I resevre my hate for the gator and for what has been done to our program. I don't care about other teams' players enough to pee on them if they were on fire.

who cares. You guys are gettin all bent out of shape about the exact manner in which opposing players celebrate their *** kickings over us. I'm more concerned about the *** kickings themselves.

There's nothing hypocritical about it. I support my team and I'm not going to support some player from another team who wants to disrespect mine, even if we do it to them. I'm not crying foul. It's fair game if he wants to do it because you guys say he earned it, but why should I be cool with it like you obviously are? Just because our team has done it to other teams I should just say, that's cool we deserve it. When did our fanbase start to accept being punked? If another team disrespecting us does not bother you, then why do so many fans hate the gators? If it doesn't bother you, then I guess we should just be cool with them too. Isn't that essentially what the gator flop was, some dude wanted to set an NCAA record, and our defense did not make the stop.

If he overreacted and truly didn't mean it, then oh well. Maybe some of our guys didn't mean it after the FIU brawl, or maybe they didn't mean it when they ran Texas out the building (obviously not the case), but it was done to get reaction and rub it in, so it gets the reaction.

As far as playing competitive sports, I've played and anyone who has been on a real team would have their teams back in this situation. When we punked some other guy or team on the field, and they got a problem, we backed our teammates. When we got punked on the field and one of our guys didn't like it, we still backed our teammates. Unless we got someone acting like a complete idiot, we got his back. Don't know what kind of team or sport you played, but I guess you didn't support each other like that.

The boy knows if he ever wants to return to south Florida where his family lives that he better make nice. Chicken **** Teddy knows he can get his *** whipped if he is not careful.

We can't tell the players to not be soft then turn around and be soft as fans. He deserved to taunt and do whatever the **** he wanted after he kicked the **** out of us for 4 quarters.

Being upset with him is just being salty at this point.

Yea it is being salty, and why not? Why was everyone so salty over Urban kicking an extra FG in 2009? What about the gator flop? As a Miami fan, I will stay salty about Bridgewater. I'm even more salty that our **** *** team didn't do anything about it. We need more FIU situation,  but would have been nice to see someone get big stick on him while he stayed in late.

As far as being a soft fan, a soft fan is one who will gladly sit back and say its ok Teddy, taunt us because you earned it. Soft fans think it ok to be taunted. If you ain't salty about it, then I don't know what to tell you. When them old Miami teams embarrassed the **** out of Texas and any other team, I 100% expect those fans to be salty, and that's why they still hate us today. I expect Louisville fans to be hyped about it that he pulled it off. Miami fans loved it when we did it, but because we did it, we should be cool with it when someone does it back to us.

I don't see how a Miami fan can be ok with it, but since you're cool with it, then I guess I'll be salty and leave it alone. I guess there is no reason to be salty about the gator flop either, because they earned it since our defense couldn't stop them.

Thinking about our reaction to other teams and lack of emotion or standing up to them, I think back to Cokers last year and the FIU brawl. Clearly FIU was chippy, had an attitude and were taking shots all night that culminated in the brawl when they jumped the holder after an extra point. We had multiple suspensions and years of bad press over that incident. It was also well publicized that we now had a no tolerance policy on fighting. I have no idea if that no tolerance policy still exists, but I think that may be where the culture or attitude of Miami players began to change.
