Yeah. I heard that on the OBB podcast when Jacurri, Jaleel and Cyrus were on. His relationship was all with Lashlee and we probably would’ve lost Jacurri if Manny were still the coach.

****kkking sickening.
Absolutely insane we had a good 2021 recruiting class given how bad Manny was at recruiting. We got that just off of Miami's name alone. Cristobal is gonna kill it.

We need to land this dude. Pair him up with LT, Kelly and Moss and we’re cooking with fire.

I know they are different players and the new recruit is always the hot commodity. His recruitment got me thinking how lucky we were to land LT last year.

Who do you think was the better high school prospect?
I’m no scout, but IMO it was Taylor, his size, explosiveness and domination in HS was the most impressive I’ve seen from a FL DL in a long long time. I’m was shocked we landed Taylor last year, only to be more shocked how long it took Manny to put him in the rotation

Kid looks like a toothpic. If he wants to leave after 3 then he needs some serious "juice" from the "juice doctor with the moustache".
Moss is most definitely on the lean side but that doesn't bother me. I can see Moss putting on 30 lbs fairly quickly. The thing that really stuck out to me when I watched his film was how well coached he was. Whoever the DC is at Gorman has done a fantastic job teaching these kids. In terms of technique, Moss is light years ahead of most DE/OLB prospects are at that stage. What Moss needs the most is to build his core/functional strength. As a prospect I'm very high on Moss.

As far as Shemar Stewart, kid is a monster. Landing Stewart in addition to Kelly and Moss would be an absolute coup by Mario especially when you consider that if Manny was still here none of them would have given us the time of day. At 6'6" 275, Stewart will make an ideal DE in the 3-4 while Moss and Kelly are most likely OLBs in that 3-4 base but can and will play with their hand on the ground as well when we shift into a 4 man front.

it would give us some desperately needed talent on the Defensive side of the ball. Chase, LT, and the safeties are all we really have

No question. With the addition of that trio at DE/OLB and Chase Smith and Wesley Bissiante at LB to go with solid talents like Keontra Smith and Gil Frierson plus the 3 safeties we will be on our way to building the defense back up to the elite level it should be at.

With Tyrique Stevenson returning plus Marcus Clarke, the 2 freshmen and everyone else coming back we could be serviceable to solid at CB. Still we need a portal CB and need to recruit the position hard in the next 2 classes.

That leaves us with the interior DL that we must continue to add size and athleticism. Another 2 recruiting classes and the defense should begin to get back to form.

With the right DC and a few key pickups via the portal we could be a solid defense next year. We certainly won't have the depth or experience to be an elite defense but nobody in their right mind expects that no matter who the DC is. We just need a good solid fundamentally sound defense that plays within itself because the offense will be expected to do the heavy lifting. With the right OC and improvement on the OL we could have one of the most potent and explosive offenses in the country with Tyler Van Dimes leading us. Winning the Coastal and competing in the ACCCG is the goal.

This kid was drooling over Miami at paradise camp last year, I honestly thought he’d commit that weekend. Shemar seems to love the U and I feel like the only way we don’t land him is if we give him a reason NOT to come here. The two biggest hurdles on that end are gone (Manny, lack of bags lol) plus with Cristobal being the ace recruiter that he is I honestly can’t see us failing to close this one down the stretch. C-A-N-E, CANE!

His reason not to, is AnM or Ga money.
He’s a for sure a 3 and off to NFL guy. But these kids don’t want to wait that long.
I’m hoping, and wishing we can convince him.
Top DL in country, it’s going to take a lot convincing. Mario got him to push his commitment back, so let’s see what happens.

Really? I wasn’t around for his recruitment. Care to share any stories or the similarities?

Once John Madden stamped DJ, I thought for sure Miami got a superstar. John Madden was everything at that time period.
DJ was an AA RB in HS...coveted by everyone....switched to LBer at UM....the rest is history.....Armstead was the #1 LBer in the country....by a mile....and even more coveted 10yrs earlier....

maybe i'm misrecalling but armstead gave his verbal commitment during a home game we were playing in the OB. The stadium announcer reported it and of course the crowd went wild
