Just when you thought Shapiro's vendetta against UM had met its rightful end, it comes back in the form of Sean Allen. The *former errand boy and money runner for the convicted ponzi schemer is now Charles Robinson's new source. Sean Allen whose claim to fame is that he worked for Shapiro and later was the assistant ball boy at UM, shares Shapiro's same interest in destroying the UM program. He was fired by the U and is finally getting the attention he craved.*
* * What has the NCAA found? By all accounts, the U is more complaint of NCAA rules than most other programs. It has been totally open, proactive, and cooperative with the investigation. The NCAA has interviewed past and present coaches and players as well as given immunity to former UM players who transferred, and recruits who are now playing with our competitors. All the dirty laundry has been exposed ! *What has been found is a bunch of minor violations most of which were self reported by our compliance department. Any major program that would be scrutinized like UM would not only of discovered minor violations but many major ones. In the last ten years University of Miami has never bought a recruit, transferred a whole family to Miami to gain the services of a five star recruit, or was involved in academic fraud as has been the case in other major programs. More importantly, there has not been a lack of institutional control at Miami. Randy Shannon to his credit suspected that Shapiro was a con artist and banned his players and coaches from associating with him.*
By giving Shapiro a continuing voice in the form of Sean Allen, we are giving him the opportunity to assist the ex coaches and competitors who want Miami sanctioned to gain access to the fertile recruiting grounds of South Florida. All they have to do is check Allen's phone records to know he talks to former UM coaches on a regular basis.
These clowns' strategy is starting to backfire. Shapiro is still in jail, Charles Robinson is getting little if not only negative publicity, Sean Allen is being isolated, and the ex coaches who were involved in the violations will be dealt with and are being out recruited by Al Golden. Let's hope the NCAA doesn't appease Shapiro and his posse by continuing his self conceived legacy.
