SFHS REPORTS THAT YEARBY COMMITS TO MIAMI!!!

LMAO @ some of this crap. Alshermond shouldve turned Yearby down and put all his eggs in two baskets with Michel and Cook and hoped for the best. He'll never be able to satisfy some of you

I honestly don't know what you guys see in Cook to proclaim him such a better RB prospect. He's a great athlete coming in fresh and just running past winded defenders. Shows no RB instincts imo.

Yearby has better vision, feet, lateral agility, sets up his blockers and has two nasty moves (spin and juke).... better ball security and placement as well.

..and then if he didn't get both Michel and Cook, and then "missed out on" Yearby, the very same people would be trashing Golden for "failing" in his recruiting of running backs. It's ridiculous. The Yearby commitment (early as it may be) is huge.

Great pickup, first time I have watched his film. This kid is an absolute beast, welcome to the U

Exactly. Should we have told this kid to hold off on committing while we pursued his backup?

Absolutely GREAT news. I NEVER thought we would get Cook and Sony. In fact, Im 99% certain that Cook is not coming here. Now we need to keep this kid on board, and grab Sony. This would be a PERFECT 1-2 punch. Yearby is a great workhorse every down type back. This would be a great complement to Sony's homerun ability.

Give me Sony and Yearby and I will be smiling EAR to EAR next Feb.

This dude is a lock. There is no flipping this kid back. He might as well sign today

And you know this how? There are no such things as a "lock".

Off course he doesn't know for sure and nobody does. It's just that all indications point to a solid kid with real family support who is not into playing games. Do you remember him naming top 5 schools while he was committed to FSU? The kid basically shut his recruitment down after committing to FSU last year. The only reason he flipped over was because of his family relationship with Coley. I don't even remember reading interviews with him on recruiting sites.
From what has been circulated around, the family is guiding him the right way and he is respecting the word "commitment". We all know there is nothing guaranteed in recruiting though.

Says who? I bet you predicted Alfred Morris's and Tyrone Mosses futures too. I bet you knew Storm Johnson would transfer out and do nothing at UCF after showing everyone great flashes here. I bet you can predict the ******* future huh? Bryce Brown was a future first rounder too.

It's called "projection." That's what this recruiting game is all about. I project Cook to be a star and project Yearby to be a good, not great, RB. We will look back and see who was right.

And before I get the typical "I'll trust the professionals" BS, a UM coach who attended the Naples game told me directly that Cook was an Adrian Peterson-type talent and "on another level" than Yearby.

Does that mean I'm right now? No. These are opinions, and my opinion is that there are two special backs in South Florida. I'll be disappointed if either of them leaves and devastated if they both leave.

Is that UM coach still at UM?

I don't see a reason for devastation DMoney. Some will leave for one reason or another no matter what we do. We will have Alex Colins and Patrick Peterson's of the world every now and then.

If we get Yearby and Sony we will be set at RB position and there is absolutely no reason to be devastated. To me, there will be reason to celebrate.

We can't get them all. That's why when asked about keeping a fence around South Florida, Golden immediately responded with (paraphrasing) "we can't and we don't want to put a fence around here. There is so much talent in SF that you can only choose the best based on your needs and who fits your core values and the way we do things here"
Now, his "best" might not be your best or Luke's best fit for Miami. That's Golden job to choose.

Coley has without a doubt grown on me. I'm liking this guy and I hope he sticks around for a while....him being hired by UM is already paying dividends

I'd rather not wait for a kid whose committed to Clemson then get burned. I'd still recruit him but lets not put all our eggs in Cook since he's been adamant about Clemson from day one.
