Serious Question

If Duke wins....yes they should be ranked, but they will get passed over by Washington or some other team that has way more votes than they do.

Just so Duke could say they was ranked for once

Worried about Duke? I'm worried about the team that has mocked the Canes for over ten years now. If we don't beat VT, the season is OVER. DONE. FIN!

Losing to Duke and missing out of going to the ACC champ game because of it is a fire-able offense imo.
Love Golden but that cannot happen under any circumstance.

Seriously? Fire Golden if this happened?

fine. break his knee caps and dump him in the middle of the everglades. If he finds his way back to Coral Gables would mean he's really committed to making this work and should be given a chance.

seriously that loss under that scenario would rank up there with one of worse losses in program history.
It would take an amazing 2014 season that would include ACC champ, BCS win type year for that to be forgiven.

Really? A loss to a 7-2 team (that would be 8-2 after beating us) would rank among the worse losses in program history?

Who is worried about Duke? I merely asked if they would be ranked if they beat NCState.

Stop it. Dumbest fanbase in America. I swear to ****ing G-d. Beamer lost to Temple the year before or 2 years before Vick led them to the national title game. I guess they should have fired Beamer for losing to a winless Temple team at home that had won like 3 Big East games in 6 years. This would be a loss to a 7-2, possibly Top 25 Duke team that was in a bowl last year, on the road without our best player. But, because they are are "Duke" and we are "Miami" our dumb fans come up with this ****.

yep. by that same logic, krzyzewski and williams should be unemployed for letting us win the conference reg season and tournament.

Yes it would. Especially if we beat VT. This would be as bad as any Coker/Radio loss. They lost to Pitt. Pitt.

They looked like garbage against VT. Had like 100 yards of offense.

unless we lose by 35+ points, have multiple players ejected for a brawl, and al golden goes out to midfield to drop a deuce, firing isn't a remote consideration, let alone a possibility. the entire notion of that is retarded. also, duke is not a bad team and they have a very good head coach.

we start 7-1 and all of a sudden everyone gets ****y like we're a dominant team and completely forgets how dismal the last decade was.

You're an idiot. A loss to a 7-2 team would rank as one of the worst losses in program history. Please enlighten me with your obvious wealth of knowledge how and why this would be anywhere remotely near anything that resembles a factual statement. And, because they are Duke and we are Miami is not the right answer.

Same thing happened at Duke when they lost to Miami in basketball. They fired their coach saying Duke should never lose to Miami in basketball period.

You seem to be basing more on names and past histories vs. actually any understanding of football whatsoever. While we should, and likely will, beat Duke, we are far from world-beaters at this point, and Duke is a solid team. Us losing to Duke this year would be equivalent to FSU's loss to NC State last year. A major let down for sure, but one of the all-time worse losses in program history? Ridiculous.
