I've yet to see any "fervor" around him. Lot's of Twitter bull****, but no confirmed reports of him being interviewed or even contacted.

The fervor is coming directly from the media both print and broadcast, where its completely unfathomable to them that Al would want to stay, so they link his name to every job out there. They claim sources when it's really just throwing **** against the wall in attempt to be the first to get it right.

As far as results.... No SEC AD, lest they absolutely crucified by their entire fan base, will take a flyer on Al because of his record, despite the extenuating circumstances. It would be Chizik all over again.

And it's SEC jobs I've mainly seen him linked too.

he hasn't done anything to warrant these big time pocket teams like Tenn to come calling.

you can't deny that

In your mind, what would he have to do to warrant big time pocket teams like Tenn to come calling for him?

That's the difference between fans and people who are in the biz. Most fans can't process more than the veneer. Administrators, other coaches, and knowledgable folks have all been impressed with the job Golden has done here under incredibly trying circumstances. They can see the forrest through the trees.

The fact that other teams are trying to hire our coach makes me happy. Nobody tried to hire Coker or Shannon, but everybody wanted Butch Davis.

People rag on Golden, but at least he won at Temple. I've never understood what Kiffin did to get the Raider's job, then UT, then USC? He's never won anywhere as a head coach.

I'm high on Golden because of what he's already done here.... Greatly improved recruiting, established better relationships with high school coaches, UTough, changing the team mentality to one of accountability, planning around the NCAA sanctions, etc.

It's coming, my friends. The U is finally on the rise again. Believe!

The fact that he is such a commodity, implies that it's warranted. If he weren't, then there would be no chatter about him.

Anyone from our side hear Al turned UT down for a interview?

Friend of mine from TN heard that from the UT side.

D$ - you hear that??

Have not, but I think Al's feet have been firmly planted since NSD 2012.

what 6-6 and 7-5 coach has been looked at by big time SEC schools before?

are we so naive to think everyone wants Golden? besides, where are y'all getting this info from?

the guy backed into a coastal title this year and featured one of the worst defenses in the nation. but yes, everyone wants him
