Seantrel Henderson eyeing ACC, National Title

Keep your nose clean and work your *** off all summer and then we'll talk...because up until now that's all he's been, talk. Don't get me wrong, pulling like **** for the kid. I hope has matured and becomes the player everyone knew he could be from the start. There are just some kids that frankly need to put it into action over a sustained period of time more than talk about what they are doing or going to do.

**** you mean "all talk"? He was our best tackle lest year and right there with Linder and Mongo for being our best linemen overall. While the rest of our line was getting son'd by the FSU D-Line, he was HANDLING their best player.

Shut up about that which you know nothing about.

DA TROOF

There is always the issue of potential versus achievment, he has the upside of McKinnie but McKinie never gave up a sack...if he wasn't going to go in the first round there is clear there is work he needs to do

So because he wouldn't have gone in the first round, he didn't produce for us last year? Our fans ****** suck, I swear.

Got Dammit mane

I am all for realistic expectations, particularly on the coaching side, and I never said he didn't produce, but if he was handling a 1st round prospect in one game but wasnt projected as a first rounder then he must not have been doing the right things all season, especially when you account for his physical upside.

It is a balance of recognizing the good but also wanting the best. I think that is pretty reasonable. He did good last year, I hope he is the best this year.

I don't blame him! Congrats to guys that get their head on right. This team with all of our holes could very well be in the national title hunt with our schedule. People saying 10-2,9-3, 11-1. Notre Dame had holes galore and they got exposed in the national title but they made it there nonetheless. Even with our holes we can make it.

Teams can improve drastically in one year from average to good.
2011 Texas A&M 7-6 to 2012 Texas A&M 11-2
2011 Louisville: 7-6 to 2012 Louisville:11-2
2011 Northwestern: 6-7 to 2012 Northwestern 10-3
2011 Ohio State 6-7 to 2012: Ohio State 12-0
2011 Florida 7-6 to 2012 Florida 11-2
2011 Notre Dame 8-5 2012 Notre Dame 12-1

There have been other improvements but I'm going off of last year only. Plenty of 7-8 win teams have gone on to post better records and being in the NC title hunt. Why can't UM? I'll wait for explanations

Any chance he gets switched to LT this year? He is our best tackle, should he not be at LT?

Who knows what he will become.
Is he the strongest OT we have? Usually the bigger and stronger Tackle is the right tackle because he anchor's the run game. At least that's how it is in the NFL. Best Run blocking Tackle at RT best pass blocking tackle at LT. So I guess he fits that description.

I can understand the guys that want to see more out of him. Heck he even admitted in that article that he was not totally bought in to this team and staff. We all knew it and that is why people were calling for him to be gone. This is the ultimate team sport and when you have guys that are the best players on the team not playing or acting like it, it hurts the program. We still needed program improvement last year before we needed more player attitude issues.
However, I am glad he stuck around for his last yr. I am glad he has finally bought in. I am glad not only for the U but for him too! I always want to see guys make the most out of their talents and I want to see them do it while wearing orange and green. I am tired of seeing our guys do better in the NFL than they ever did here. I am glad we have player development back. Good for Seantrel! This is going to be a very good year for us barring major injuries......

So you think Seantrel to this point has lived up to his full potential? You think he has put in the work needed to be the best at his craft? Please, you insult guys that do work their nuts off with posts like that.

Here is a quote from Golden almost exactly one year ago regarding SH:
"And so we're sitting here saying to the guys, 'That is an incredible offseason,' and 'Great job,' and then the next day you've got to weed the garden again. It's like, after a while, you stop using the weed whacker and you get a shovel and get the whole root. That's kind of where we're at."

So, go **** yourself.

So you didn't refute anything I said? Thanks.

That quote is from the fall of LAST YEAR!!!!!! An ENTIRE football season followed. A season in which Seantrel was a might good player.

Not being a first round pick has NOTHING to do with the production you provide for your team and Seantrel was productive as **** last year. You just don't know what you're talking about.

Point out to me where Seantrel wasn't pulling his weight and then we can have this conversation. Until then, be quiet.

There's a big difference between being "all talk" and "living up to your full potential." What you're essentially saying is that if you don't live up to your full potential, then you're all talk, which is B.S. Seantrel has proven to be a very good lineman. Now he has a chance to be dominant. And, those players who "live up" to their "full potential" usually only do it for one season in college, like Seantrel can this year.

No one actually WANTED him gone. But plenty of us including myself were skeptical of his ability to avoid drama after the first incident last year where he went AWOL

And we were right. My memory is bad but right after the first incident, i know that he went missing again, either because he drove without a license or drove high and got into an accident or went missing to go to yet ANOTHER funeral, or BOTH.

Kid deserves due credit for keeping his shi* together throughout the rest of the year and being smart enough to come back...but jesus, thousands of kids throughout the country manage to keep it together for a college football season - its not like he stormed the beaches at Normandy. There's a reason why a kid with first round NFL talent ended up coming back here.

He needs to continue to get stronger. He plays strong but lord knows how much stock people put into the combine. His strength numbers, while improving, were pedestrian at best last I saw. I also believe he has a back injury that makes him much more comfortable moving to his right in pass pro. Kid has been a very good player for us and I wish him the best. He's certainly saying all the right things right now

Read my original post. I think you're confused cause I didn't mention anything about what round he could have gone in. I'm talking about a guy that obviously hasn't even taken his conditioning and strength seriously until he had to--until he knew his contract year was just around the corner. SH probably couldn't even bench press his body weight until last year--maybe. That says something to me...and it's not just because he has long arms.

I will also go on the record and say that if SH plays up to his full potential this year (after doing everything he supposed to do over the summer), I think he will be a top 15 overall pick. So, I'm not dogging the kid, I just think he hasn't shown us half of what he is capable of yet.
