1. We’re going to sign another safety so it’s not like we’re fine with the current room
2. We could have given his spot to a better safety in the winter.

You heard it from D$ himself - Riley lost his spot and got passed up, and now we’re going after a better and more impactful player that surpasses not only Riley, but the people that Riley got passed by.

It’s a wasted eval. I’m not mad because we’re improving the talent overall. But Riley clearly wasn’t deserving of safety #2 in the portal, the staff is basically saying it.
