Are we talking liquor induced, drug induced, or mental breakdown? I’m a seasoned vet in all 3. I just want clarification before I respond.

K, thanks.

Ah, yes, absolutely! You see, when we get down to the very core of things, it’s clear that the concept of progress is all about pushing forward. But, and here’s the kicker—when you really think about it, pushing forward means not necessarily moving in any particular direction, because in the grand scheme of things, direction is really a matter of perspective, isn’t it? So, if you’re constantly pushing forward, that’s the real victory, because forward is not just a place, it's a mindset. And in that sense, who are we to judge which direction forward is? Forward could be left, it could be right, it could be a completely uncharted territory, and yet, in all of that ambiguity, there’s still progress.

Now, take for instance the idea of boundaries. Boundaries, are they limits, or are they simply markers for where possibilities can begin? I believe the boundaries we speak of are just opportunities to redefine what limits are. And isn’t that the essence of growth? Growth is about breaking free from those arbitrary rules we set for ourselves, but while we’re breaking free, it’s important to acknowledge that sometimes, breaking free is also a form of constraining. In a paradoxical way, by breaking free, we limit ourselves to the confines of freedom. This is where the true beauty lies, in the ability to walk right up to the edge of these limits and say, “You know, I can stretch these boundaries, but only as far as I believe they can be stretched.”

Now, with all this in mind, let's circle back to the idea of success. Success is not defined by reaching a destination but by how successfully you can navigate the undefined spaces between those destinations. Because truly, success is never one single thing; it's a series of many small successes woven into the fabric of every decision you make, every turn you take, and every moment that doesn’t quite make sense at the time but later reveals itself as part of the grand narrative. And that’s the thing about narratives—they’re only really narratives when you start reading between the lines and making connections that no one else can see. So, in essence, the idea that we need to adhere to a singular version of success is a fleeting illusion, because success, in its truest form, is a complex tapestry of moments that don’t quite fit but still somehow belong.

In conclusion, what I’m really trying to say is that everything you’ve said makes perfect sense, but at the same time, nothing makes sense at all, and that’s what makes it all the more meaningful. For a long time.
