No one cares about conversations, we care about bottom line results on signing day.

We need Mario to be Mario and close this out. No excuses.
NO ONE? WE? Pretty inclusive club there. There are as many perspectives as there are fans.

I agree. It usually takes the 3 to 4 years in Gainesville to realize you never want to go back.
It took me 2 semesters at Santa Fe, and a breakup. Plus you can only eat Hogan’s Sandwiches so many times. It’s my favorite part about that place. And the weather this time of year being significantly colder than Miami. But that’s it.

when will folks realize this is not as relevant as they want to believe it is?
I’m confused; are you suggesting the history of development is not a factor, or the location not being a factor?

Kid seems like he’s big on his brand, but of course development is a legitimate factor. For all positions but OL especially. Obviously not the ONLY factor, but for many it is a big one

Lol I was referring to Location.

And yes Samson is BIG on NIL and I respect him for that

Come on. We’ve been through this in many in season threads, there are MANY teams doing one year turnarounds. Posters have said records don’t matter.

Mario is the RECRUITER, this is his time of year. Grab the star and run around grabbing every big name recruit!

We can’t have the happy to be here attitude the team had during the A&M game. That’s weak sauce.
Nailed it.

Mario is getting paid $8 million a year to recruit the best players and win the tough battles. No excuses. He wasn’t hired for his coaching ability.

yep

don't get me wrong, i want samson

but in this age, why don't we just hit the portal hard with our budget every year specifically for OL and DL? portal kids will have had excellent tape against college competition, be physically ready, and typically guaranteed to start.

or we can drop huge bags on high school kids that may never pan out. I say we at least do 50/50 on both the OL and DL each year to keep experience and physically ready bodies manning the trenches

edit - not to mention the likelihood of them transferring again is minimal and the likelihood of someone like samson transferring has to be at least 50% or greater with how he views NIL and his brand
agree. other than grad transfers, it's quite difficult for a portal signee to transfer out without sitting 1 year

You're only saying that because Gainesville as a location is a trash dump, and Miami is a world class location.

I would say for most kids, the order of importance: 1.) Bags 2.) Relationships 3.) Brand of the School 4.) Coaching 5.) Location

So not the most important factor but all else being equal, who would want to live in a place called "the swamp?"

He can probably sell a lot more pancakes and be better known in a small college town. Every gator fan that lives there would go eat at honcho pancakes if he opened a place.

You’re underestimating how loyal those cucks are to Cracker Barrel.

Fr though, he has a way bigger market down here.

Are we really talking about selling pancakes? If that IS your business, you're gonna sell way more in Miami because there are more folks around to eat them. Even so, when is he gonna have time to run a **** Waffle House in between all the other **** he needs to do in college?

Also nobody is going to a restaurant just because an offensive lineman owns it. Maybe once or twice to check it out, but people go to restaurants because the food is good and the atmosphere is good, not because of who owns it.

With all the big passing plays we gave up last season and now seeing most of our DB's entering the portal I'm thinking Addae is a much better recruiter than actual DB coach.

Maybe DVD takes this job going forward
