I was simply saying they identified and had a pledge from a kid that is now a true freshman starter, and playing really really well as a freshman. In addition to Mario's already proven track record.. and how that relates to what hes trying to recruit here at Miami. You jumped in for no reason in the first place, so I'm really not sure what isn't making sense to you? But, ok.

I'm thinking the same because he hasn't had barely any snaps this year he needs some more film in this Mario Mirabal offense
I’m ready for new dudes on OL. Appreciate Zion’s career here, crazy story for a guy who was a two star, but it’s time. For him and a lot of dudes.

I'd be surprised, but not shocked, if either was a day one starter (barring injuries) come next year no matter who comes.

It's one thing to be game fit and punishing guys typically 50 to 100 pounds less than you in high school. That's at the highest levels of competitions and you're almost always this biggest guy by quite a bit.

You get to college and most are your size or pretty **** close. They're hitting you all over your body with two by fours like arms left and right. It's the physical toll, week in and week out, that takes time. You're going in each week hurt, I'm not saying an injury, but your arms might hurt every time you move them. Your ribs are all banged up. Same with your legs, etc.

There is no break on the OL. I know people love to say so and so is a tub of goo, but those guys are strong and far more fit than you'd think. You don't get subbed in and out like you do on the DL. The DL comes at you in waves and as the time dwindles down, they're a lot fresher than you.

Once you're fit and can master the physical toll / pain and push through exhaustion, that's when you can start. Backups aren't always ready for that, but get called on. It's tough, but we're bringing in some big boys who'll grow into men. They'll be ready when they're ready, but remember, they'll likely need some time.

I feel the same way about alot of these lineman like Scaife and Justice just ready for them to graduate lol
Yes...really my sentiment toward about half of the starters. Need them now, but ready for a new wave.

People love to trash Scaife and Ivey without realizing that between 3 different head / position coaches....both these dudes continue to start...Maybe, just maybe, they're better than the dudes behind them.
Scaife prob was the better option than what was behind him. We’ve recruited very poorly on the O-line so that’s not a shocking statement. Still wouldn’t want him an anyone O-line being out together

Scaife is not better than Cooper.

He may know the line calls and audibles, but he’s not better.

That kid is moving people (look at his snaps in the Southern Miss and TAMU games).

While these guys look to be 1st round ceiling type players with the floor also of a 1st rounder, I would maybe temper the expectation that a 19 year old is going to come in with the type of grown man strength we want to run the ball like we know is the plan. I wouldn't at all be surprised to see both of them get some snaps, but will not be disappointed if it turns out a position that usually takes years to develop isn't manned by either of them to start the season.

Have to think that if this kid commits to us (especially soon) that nothing but pure craziness would cause him to go back on his decision. I just hope that Gaby is correct in his assessment.
