How’s potentially landing a kid from Massachusetts recruiting in the south?

We know Mario can recruit on a big boy level he’s done it at multiple stops. Billy wasn’t doing sh*t if I remember this past summer

Fvck the Gators we are better than them so let’s not resort to their antics. How is that different to them saying Mario isn’t an elite recruiter, it’s really all Ruiz?

It’s not that’s my point… Billy staff couldn’t do **** until they were getting embarrassed on the trial to the point their fans were questioning everything. Then here comes ol Hugh and his blue Lamborghini to help out

Well in todays day and age if your NIL is a joke then your recruiting will be a joke. Reality is that while Napier maybe a weirdo this notion that he was saved is ridiculous. Once again if your NIL ain’t right, you could be Pete Carroll or Nick Saban and you ain’t closing sh8t, you aren’t in the convo.

Everyone is using NIL to help recruiting, don't do that

everytime UF gets a recruit, y'all have excuses about NIL that y'all don't use when y'all land recruits.

It’s fair, I think people just lean on the fact that Mario did it without NIL and Billy didn’t, but then again Billy wasn’t in a P5 position.

Billy was getting bodied early and then NIL got sorted out quick, hence the change. But the name of the game is getting said recruit to sign, no matter the cost. If he gets them to sign, the excuse Of NIL is mute.

All I was saying was that Mario was showing he can recruit in the south (which is a diff animal than recruiting out there in the Pac-12 against only predominantly USC and Idk why I even had to spell that out for folks) and folks in here started getting emotional and defensive lol.

And what i'm saying, and i've said it in Gator Tears months ago, ask the homie @RVACane, that I said Billy learned over the summer, recruiting at a P5 is cut throat. All that "building relationships" recruiting that he was doing like Mullen was doing, was getting him bodied. Notice how swiftly that NIL mess this summer got cleared up and we just recently launched a UF affiliated NIL site. No one on this site had the balls to agree with me that UF would finish in the top 10 in recruiting this cycle and look at where we sit now.

Just saying....the fact that UF has folks on this board and social media following our OV weekend like private investigators shows Billy getting his footing in recruiting. I've always said that both schools are going to beat each other for kids in head to head battles for years to come but most of everyone in here was acting like Miami was just going to get any and everyone when going head to head with UF. It don't work like that

No one want to agree with you because Miami fans was to see Florida struggle. Probably the same way Florida wants to see Miami struggle.

So some context there. Billy was actually doin allright, he was just losing some local big battles mainly to us. They had a decent class but then that DT went to Okie, Malik and Kinsler went to the good guys and Baxter went to Tejas. Also, you had Walker go to UCF. Reality is that he should have 3/4 or so of those guys. Then you coupled that with us getting Mauigoa and Rashada and rightfully so it looked like he was being bodied. Reality is that while he suffered all those losses, he had put together a nice but not elite class. Then UF got their NIL together and they got more of a spark… look I will take Mario over Slingblade as a recruiter every day and twice on Sunday but that doesn’t mean Slingblade is terrible, it’s just Mario is elite. I foresee UF and him to continue to battle us for top recruits in the future, I predict we win more often than not but they will get their wins, like they did with Jean, Rashada, and Ja’Keem this year.

This is all on point. I would only add that I think after the Malik Bryant commitment was when they put their foot down and said ok, let’s get the money organized. Jean followed a bit after I believe, and that was the start.

I don’t come here for cycle summaries for UF and Billy’s growth as a big boy recruiter .

This is a Miami board.
 
Thinks have been difficult this season, but it’s nice have some confidence in your coach going into a loving room to close. Much better than having a lispy moron that couldn’t close to save his life. If this dude could just put a decent staff together then we can get things rolling.

Yeah, Malik was a swift kick in the *** but Cormani was a killer. Then it appears they went and sold their souls to flip Rashada. They needed that one bad, real bad.
