Oh, you’re one of those.
I reposted those pictures several times over the last few months. I am well aware of the “improvements”. I defended Redwine from the board when those numbers were posted. You reposting this is not new information.
Explosiveness and functional training is what matters. Bench press is easily the most overrated lifts in terms of determining performance.
I have been a Professional member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) since 1983. I have worked with high school, some collegiate, and one professional player-offensive tackle. Over the many years one thing has really not changed. Studies have shown the most important qualities for a player are desire, speed/athleticism (relative to the position) and strength. Of the three components strength is the most easily developed.
Regarding the numbers posted for certain lifts on the U board are position specific. What is specific for a QB is not what at DT uses or what the DT uses is not what a WR uses, etc. although in certain lifts there is overlap.
On the photos shown of the lifts I do not recall any explosive lifts like power clean, push press or push jerk, etc., being shown. If you have those repost them if you will.
I am approaching 66 years of age and despite some severe injuries from a fall in 2012 where I was airlifted to Jackson Trauma for 7 months of rehab I still train. I an 6-2 and 270 or so have over a 19" arm (cold) and can curl 150 for 10 reps is Very strict form, seated dumbbell simultaneous presses with 100 pound dumbbells 8 reps and can dead lift nearly 500. Haven't being doing a lot of back/leg work as a woman hit me walking my dog and sped off without even seeing if I was OK. I still healing up from that about 3 months ago.
If you doubt me please email me privately and we can meet maybe for something to eat and then I will give a demonstration. By the way I train at home on standard weights and not the
Olympic type long 7 foot bars that allows one to lift more. I have never taken rids, etc and I have a $5,000 bet with anyone that I will take any urine, blood, hair analysis (shows use up to 18 months) or polygraph to prove it so.
