Only thing I can think of is that they see Burns moving there. The play where he seperated the VT WR from the ball was a classic safety play, his HS highlights were full of big hits and great blitzes and we know he can cover. OTOH, I´m also pretty sure Mayes will be a safety.

they have to be planning to move Burns and/or Gunter to safety for next season. I dont know if anyone has noticed, but Gunter has played a little bit of safety already this year. There doesn't seem to be any safeties on the horizon this year and we are running very low on space in this class. There is no way we run out a roster with only 3 safeties on it next year
