None of the supposed " advantages" or opinions yall have of him personally have **** to do with his ability to field a disciplined team, well developed players at every position, manage games, coach up other coaches, and reinvent himself and methods.

Anyone that doesn’t think Saban played with a loaded deck is living with their head in the sand. That guy got away with insane amounts of obvious cheating. The Tua situation was so blatant that everyone in the work could see what they were doing. Nothing from his buddy Emmert. Kids signing with Bama then immediately flashing $ and new hellcats. There were certain schools that got away with it and it was obvious. Saban broke the sport and won a lot of football games in the process. He’s a great coach, but ignoring all the facts is ridiculous.

Ive said this more than once but ill say it again. I met a guy who married into Tua’s family. He confirmed what we already knew….family was moved to Alabama on the boosters dime, parents were given jobs, parents were given a place to rent for barely nothing.

These boosters owned houses all over Birmingham Metro and of course, players or players famlies, “Rent,” from them.

Now with NIL, the high value recruits can buy their parent(s) a home. The Hellcats & pennies on the dollar that Bama's offering no longer attract those kids, that's why Saban quit.

He’s been the CFP 4 of the last 6 yrs, 3 of the last 6 Nat’l Title Games, & 1 Nat’l title since this new era of CFB, but he quit b/c he was afraid of this new era of CFB?? Lol

If anyone has paid attention, Nick has went from the stoic, “F u” Coach, to a much more engaging, jolly coach these last few yrs. If anyone paid attention, he’s been setting himself up for retirement for a while. He has no health issues, but he said himself he sat in his office & realized he couldn’t give 100% like he once did, so he made the decision to retire.

He had issues w/ this new era, ****, he had issues when CFB became a passing league, catering to the O, but he adjusted. IMHO, I thought he would’ve been a Paterno or Bowden, but folks around the program thought he was going to hang it up last yr b/c he just didn’t have that intensity like yrs prior. The playing field has not evened out; UGA & Bama have steadily been the poster children of HS recruiting; we were the poster child of both the portal & NIL, and that still didn’t stop the machines.

Saban won titles with bums at QB. McCarron, McElroy, Sims and even Hurts was terrible before Lincoln got him. Dabo needed Deshaun to be Vince Young to win and the best QB prospect of all time in Lawrence to win again. Dabo couldn’t even win the ACC without elite guys playing QB.
