Sabag flipped a bunch of Texas kids

I've been saying for the last two years we need to build a pipeline into Tejas, specifically for QB's & DB's.

Texas, Cali & Fla kids are always open, they'll go wherever they feel they can be developed into a great player.

There's very little hometown loyalty anymore in recruiting, especially if the hometown team isn't worth a ****.

Texas & Arizona are producing great QB's every class, we should be offering every **** kid down there in the Southwest.

Oline as well.

We need Texas kids for positions that require a solid coaching base.

Bama has been on him for months. They felt pretty good about eventually flipping him. They stopped recruiting that Zach Evans kid from Flagg’s team early on. Saban saw the kid was a head case. Last week OU figured he was gone.

Saban is like Butch in how he evaluates character. No one is perfect obviously and he pretty much gets the choices of whom he wants, but his ability to keep finding the right upper echelon guys that keeps them going is incredible.

You want a pipeline in Texas for QBs? Hire Art Briles as OC. Make Miami football fun again!!

and Eric Winston

And a whole bunch of others. With the exception of QB/RB and some depth on the lines, an all-Texas Canes team would be pretty **** salty.

KC Jones, Jason Fox, Eric Winston, Tyrone Byrd, Kevin Everett, Bubba Franks, Daryl Jones, Kevin Williams, AC Tellison, Damione Lewis, Cornelius Green, Jesse Armstead, Chris Campbell, Tremain Mack, CJ Richardson, Charles Pharms, Nick Ward, Adrian Colbert....

Not to mention the "what could've been" Texans:
Ceasar ONeal, Tory Mitchell, Derrick Griffin, Shawnbrey McNeal, Kendrick Barrett...

Jimmy and Dennis had a lot of Texas players. Butch had some. After that, it has dried up virtually completely. The Houston metro and East Texas would be my #2 OOS target area after Georgia. Many posters make the point about the cultural differences as a barrier we face in recruiting OOS kids. That barrier is considerably lower when recruiting Houston and its environs.

With what we are putting out there on Saturday we can’t build a pipeline into school right down the street any more and the nfl is littered with players from those pipeline school...wake me from this nightmare

Something to keep an eye on in the future is VT recruiting in Texas. They are starting to bring in a couple guys each year
