Running A Kid Off

How about our recruit Jeremy Kerr who has 2 catches for 3 yards this season?

I've voiced my thoughts on Kerr before and I still don't like the take but his production has more to do with the offensive system his team runs than his own ability. Whether you think he's a good receiver or not there's no question he'd have more production on a team that actually throws the ball.

I think his best position will be OL.

You can't kick them out. Well, you can, but you don't. You have an honest talk with them and let them know they are not part of your plans going forward. If they have any interest in playing football, they will transfer.

IIRC, Coach Golden said a long time ago that he planned to have a 1:1 meeting with each guy on the team at least 3 times a year to discuss, among other things, where the kid stood and what he needed to work on.

well golden jettisoned Nick Menocal rather quickly...

and guys like Travis Williams were pushed out...CJ HOLTON, etc...

Menocal wasnt on campus (he was just a verbal commit before NSD) and IIRC he was told his scholarship would be honored only if he agreed to play FB.. T. Williams, Holton, were told told to explore other options becasue they werent "buying in'

they didnt contact menocal, and when they did they told him he could play fb a position he never played before...(i was the CLEAN way of cutting ties)...they tried to push out Luther Robinson by trying to move him to ol where he would be buried and essentially transfer...but he responded and prove them wrong a bit.

lol @ buying in....Travis Williams i think got caught up in the crew of "smokers"..(Seantrel, Storm, etc.) but apparently he didnt actually smoke (think he was one of their roomies)..so they suspended him anyway..he through a fit about it...essentally leading to him transferring (another clean push out as size wise he doesnt match what they look for).

Theres ways to do it...but when you play div 1 ball...at the end of the season you always have that "meeting"with the head guy b4 you go home for christmas break where u learn if your schollie is renewed and where you stand.
