Rousseau getting big--Palm Beach Post

I want him great here not once he gets to the Nfl. We use to send DTs to NFL to teach the ones there how to be a DT. I love our pro players but they need to be great here first. Nesta and Miller need to end top 10 picks or Kul is not doing his job. He seems to have thing for DEs. The essential position for Miami defense, and I think he even said it, is DT like Nesta. I hope he can coach that position well too. Otherwise, Interior dline had to be the 10th coach and Mark really screwed up with not getting one. Until we see qbs running for their lives from a grizzly bear in orange and green will continue to make them look like all pros.

Silvera is the best defensive line prospect since Wilfork. Nasty, explosive speed, with a high motor. Miller might make Kul look like a genius. This might be the best find since the Dancing Bear.

McIntosh was great here what are you talking about? And Norton was good here too
Yes they were, but not compared to beast like Brown , Tez, Maryland .... are either them going in the top 10? Our players use to be the default picks because nfl was getting 3 rd year pros, now they are bargain picks - underdevloped talent. I think Kul success has been with DEs. I hope he can do it with the interior buys here.

I agree. Very excited about both. There is no telling how great a pair they can be. Kul needs to shows what he can do inside now.

What are you ranting about? Embarrassing post. McIntosh and Norton are both going to be drafted and make NFL teams. If someone doesn’t turn into a top 10 pick Kool failed? Man, shut the **** up.

Calais was amazing here his sophomore year when we had Palermo coaching the DL. He was being taked about as the potential #1 pick in the 08 draft, then he had to deal with Clint Hurtt his junior year. He was obviously a great player.
We need to have that level of DTs for our defense to work. Yes our two guys will be drafted and play on Sundays but 3rd and4th round DTs are not good enough to take us where we want to go. I think Kul was Mark’s best hire but if he can’t make Nesta and Miller into those types we need to help him.

right now..NO.
But with proper development and strength/weight gain...his upside is wayyy up there. I always compared him similar to Dion Jordan at Oregon...a big guy that is comfortable in space and in coverage.

Not disagreeing with you. But they're completely different recruits. I wanted them both, but Rousseau is the guy with the NFL body,

Chatfield played at AH against real competition, and was more or less the same body frame over his past three years. Rousseau is only now settling into his adult body, really needs two years to be complete. And he rarely played along the line until now. Chatfield is a nearly finished product with a very high floor, Rousseau is raw with a very high ceiling..

Id imagine "getting big" and "playing weight" are different things. You can only put on so much muscle b4 the fall... people want our guys "stronger", "faster",....so fat has to come with it as well.

Nothing to really worry about because grueling Spring practices will burn much of it up anyway.

Going into Fall camp its wash, rinse, repeat.

Completely agree with this. That's why I made the comparison to Calais. From what I saw on his film compared to now, Rousseau had put on some **** good weight in a short amount of time. If he's up to 240 already, he could be around 260 this time next year. That's a huge RFr! Coach Kul has alot to work with here. He's a quick twichty athlete who's growing into his body and seems to have no problem putting on size. Calais came on looking the same way.

I wonder if we are looking at the next Calais campbell. CC came is skinny as ****. I don't think he turned into a full-time DT til after he got to the league

Physically he has a similar build.

If remember correctly Calais Campbell came in at like 6-7 225 and left 6-8 280

Really wish this kid could shirt but regardless, excited to see him develop. We have a freak on our hands once he reaches 245+ and he could make this DE situation much better.

Rousseau will be a beast, and I'm buying Patchan. Kid came into the FSU game a year go off the training table and got a sack.
