The Viper is just a DE that drops back in coverage in our 4-2-5 Defense it's the Weak side DE, in a 3-4 front it's the Sam Backer.

DJax was used as the Viper in 2016 & this season in the few instances when you saw Rousseau dropping back in coverage he was playing Viper.

It's just based on the alignment & coverage we're playing depending on the down.
