Robert Stafford commits to the U

Alright - so first impressions of Stafford in person - “fluid” athlete and deceptively fast. He never looks like he’s going full speed but he is just a step faster than everyone else on the field.

Offense - probably only played about half of the available snaps for EGHS offense but had two big catches including a TD on a slant route. There was one play early in the 4th where he blew through double coverage; would have been an easy 50 yard TD but the QB rolled out the opposite direction and didn’t see it.

Defense - apparently Stafford has only played CB for one year, but he moves like he’s been doing it for years. He looks like he’s moving at half-speed compared to everyone else but never loses coverage. Viera QB only threw in his direction once and it was nearly an interception. Will be interesting to see how well he plays against better offenses and wideouts.

Special Teams - it appeared that Viera had a game plan to not kick to Stafford at all. The one time they did at the start of the second half he returned it 40 yards and would have housed it if not for his own blocker running into him (video below)

Thanks bro! He certainly looks the part. Just to confirm, did he play the whole game on defense then at CB? Love that he's involved in every phase of the game, true ball player.

Yes, I’d say 50% of offensive snaps, 95% of defensive snaps at CB (he cramped up in the 4th and missed a few plays) and was returner on both kickoffs and punts.

That’s an A- maybe a B+. If that is an A, then what do you call Bama’s class? A++++? I would be happy with the Stafford and Damari but let’s keep it a 100.
Bama is going to sign an A+ CB class. Doesn’t mean not getting that isn’t an A. Are we really debating A-? Come on. Stafford/Brown would be as good as any CB class outside Alabama.
