My post says "I can't name a NC team at the U that didn't have a player on it which the current HC didn't recruit". The NC 89 team which TemplarCane refers to has Jimmy Johnson recruits on it Conley and Erickson. I didn't realize that I put Walsh but the point is still the same; coaches win with other coaches recruits that's nothing new.
Reading too much into the leaving thing. Who knows how hard Richt tried to keep these kids. Frankly
my guess is that he is all over Jenkins and Gus to stay. Yearby just needs to take his shot at the league. Better now after a year where he st least had some playing time then after a year where he may very well not see the field.
Great head coaches make great decisions with the understanding that you will have to win with players that you didn't recruit. Richt is a great head coach that makes good decision as well as makes mistakes like any of the rest. I believe that he will continue moving the program forward with talent regardless be it due to his recruitment of the player or not. I can't name a NC team at the U that didn't a have player on it which the current HC didn't recruit.
1989. Dennis Erickson took over for Jimmy Johnson after NSD, and won the NC.
Have you ever heard of Leonard Conley... How about Steve Walsh; Jimmy Johnson recruit.
It's awesome to see so many transfers and NFL draft declarations. This is how Miami can start rebuilding the depth it needs to make a serious run at a title. Keep the best players, get the non-contributors out. There are at least 20-25 players on scholarship who will never ever ever ever ever ever contribute in any meaningful way on the field or even on the scout team. Yearby was a contributor, but it sounds like he was also poisoning the locker room with his bad attitude (from one of the other posters who said that Joe didn't take kindly to losing his starting spot).

The 1989 NC team did not have a single player recruited by then-current HC, Dennis Erickson. Jimmy Johnson left after NSD in 1989. The 1989 team were all Johnson recruits.
Unless you can name a major contributor to that team that Erickson brought in during the spring or summer none were Erickson recruits.

Obviously you must have forgotten who's point you need to be arguing because almost everything you have typed proves Moro's point that Jimmy Johnson's recruits were on the 1989 NC team. It just doesn't get any clearer than that. Coaches winning NC with other coaches recruits is nothing new at the U.
With Berrios potentially leaving is Richt pushing kids too hard out of the program? Do they just not like playing for him. Berrios is/was cane to the bone and is thinking about leaving. I know attrition is needed when taking over but ****. Is Berrios drinking the juice on his talent or does Richt NGAF and wants to play his kids only.
I really think we should fire Richt and hire Mario
Can richt evaluate talent as well as Butch? Because thats what it all comes down to. As long as you dont have some ****bag anomaly defensive scheme like dorito and golden. Never seen some **** like that before. Right now UF, and FSU are ****ing on Miami. Not sure how thats possible. Richt really hasn't beat UF, or FSU head up for any recruit besides donaldson. Pretty terrible.
First, I was a Butch guy 110% but I'm satisfied with Richt. Richt constantly talks about savages, people dont fear miami, we need nasty miami kids, miami speed. I noticed even when asked about kaaya he would say "he has a decision to make" in interviews, it was clear he wasnt in love with brad. he also didnt beg Yearby to stay, has clearly pushed some kids out, and seems to care less if kids like gus and courtel transfer. My sense is like most coaches, he rather go young with his guys than try to make it work with holdovers. Aside from Walton, he seems to praise the freshman the most. Watching the caliber of kid he recruits, how hard he recruits, how well they have developed kids, and the fact he doesnt make excuses, im excited to see what this program will look like in 2018 i always said 2017 was a transition but i think we are on the verge of another great run. I've been around long enough to know what it feels like and luckily, he is a few seasons ahead of were Butch was when he first got here. (hes also not a first year head coach). He is not going to hand Perry the job but i think he is prob fine with moving on from Kaaya.
I think you're making too much out of Richt's actions. He's just a very low energy, lack of emotion type person.Half the team could quit on him and you would stii see the same demeanor.
yeah. our defense looked low energy. His pre-game speeches are better than goldens. he runs a harder practice and he dropped the f bomb on national tv during the WVU game. i fell into that trap. hes not as soft as peopel think.
