First, I was a Butch guy 110% but I'm satisfied with Richt. Richt constantly talks about savages, people dont fear miami, we need nasty miami kids, miami speed. I noticed even when asked about kaaya he would say "he has a decision to make" in interviews, it was clear he wasnt in love with brad. he also didnt beg Yearby to stay, has clearly pushed some kids out, and seems to care less if kids like gus and courtel transfer. My sense is like most coaches, he rather go young with his guys than try to make it work with holdovers. Aside from Walton, he seems to praise the freshman the most. Watching the caliber of kid he recruits, how hard he recruits, how well they have developed kids, and the fact he doesnt make excuses, im excited to see what this program will look like in 2018 i always said 2017 was a transition but i think we are on the verge of another great run. I've been around long enough to know what it feels like and luckily, he is a few seasons ahead of were Butch was when he first got here. (hes also not a first year head coach). He is not going to hand Perry the job but i think he is prob fine with moving on from Kaaya.

It's awesome to see so many transfers and NFL draft declarations. This is how Miami can start rebuilding the depth it needs to make a serious run at a title. Keep the best players, get the non-contributors out. There are at least 20-25 players on scholarship who will never ever ever ever ever ever contribute in any meaningful way on the field or even on the scout team. Yearby was a contributor, but it sounds like he was also poisoning the locker room with his bad attitude (from one of the other posters who said that Joe didn't take kindly to losing his starting spot).

My only complaint is that it took way too long to adjust his O to the talent, which goes to your point about wanting his guys.

Great head coaches make great decisions with the understanding that you will have to win with players that you didn't recruit. Richt is a great head coach that makes good decision as well as makes mistakes like any of the rest. I believe that he will continue moving the program forward with talent regardless be it due to his recruitment of the player or not. I can't name a NC team at the U that didn't a have player on it which the current HC didn't recruit.

1989. Dennis Erickson took over for Jimmy Johnson after NSD, and won the NC.

October is going to keep people really skeptical. It was soul crushing. However the way he talks is like the way we talk on here. He knows what we need to be sucsessful. Shaq, Mike, Joe, & Ahmon were as good of freshman as there was in the country. Next year you add another few guys that can make an impact like they did then in 2018 we should be ready to rock n roll.

Glad that the next QB has a year to transition and all **** to be unleashed on LSU in the 2018 Opener all the boys will be juniors. That game will be lit and we'll have a second year QB starting.

You don't have to agree with Richt, but he isn't a fool. He is taking ownership of the program by doing this. His players, their results will be his own.

The program had a losing mentality. It didn't get angry when it lost. It wouldn't fight back when challenged. It refused to evolve when clearly the game was passing it by. It refused to challenge other programs for top recruits.

I wish all the Canes good luck and hope they succeed at the highest level, but this program needs an infusion of players and coaches with a winning mentality. I can't fault Richt if he isn't begging kids to stay. Kids like Njoku are a different story, that's no-brainer when you're the #1 prospect at your position. But, Kaaya, Yearby, Edwards, Jenkins, if they want to move on one way or another, so be it. Bring in your players, work them into the program and accept their results.

I think you're making too much out of Richt's actions. He's just a very low energy, lack of emotion type person.Half the team could quit on him and you would stii see the same demeanor.

yeah. our defense looked low energy. His pre-game speeches are better than goldens. he runs a harder practice and he dropped the f bomb on national tv during the WVU game. i fell into that trap. hes not as soft as peopel think.

Hello! Earth to Moro. Dennis Erickson won the 89 championship with players that he did not recruit. Wasn't that the whole point. And, Steve Walsh wasn't on that team.

Stick to race baiting.

The defense's energy is all Diaz and even Banda going crazy on the sidelines while Richt looks like he's listening to opera on his head phones.

I know you guys are desperate to catch me on something wrong but Craig Erickson was a backup under Steve Walsh in 87 which Walsh was a NC and AA in 88. Erickson also was a Jimmy Johnson recruit in 87. When you rookies going to learn mane....
