Might be the best thing Ive heard yet. Our alumni being on those sidelines is a MAJOR recruting tool. What 17/18 year old wouldnt wanna have a chat with Santana Moss or Reggie Wayne? Great Stuff.

Will never forget Dorsey getting counseled on the sidelines by guys like Kelly and Kosar before "the drive" against FSU. Even if those guys aren't giving him audibles or anything too specific, it's gotta be comforting to a college player to have an NFL Hall of Famer pumping him up or giving him a tip during a game.

golden wanted all of them to come back until he realized that their sideline advice would be the exact opposite of his ***** game plan, especially on defense.

Ray Lewis or Ed Reed on our sidelines during Golden's tenure would have resulted in violence.....

Shannon didn't want alumni presence because of his insecurity so they didn't come. Golden wanted them to come but they stayed away when they realized he was a bad coach the didn't want to be associated with. Now, since we have a good coach who wants them to be around.....they will come.

golden wanted all of them to come back until he realized he wasn't a real elite football coach and he had to hide it and make 10 mil

golden was scared the older canes would get too involved in the games and make the players do something else...

If u are str8 with the alumni and tell them to their face to not get involved maybe they would listen, but if you lock them out, they will turn on you... They are more HURRICANE than u ever were! #usedcarsalesman

ed reed was at golden's debut against maryland i can only imagine what he was thinking watching that defense up close and personal

id love to see the old guys come back, but to be fair it's a double edged sword. Great to have them, but the last thing any coach needs is ex-players telling current players to do things differently. Like the coach or not, he's got to have control or there's no chance of winning (let's ignore Larry for the mo). Former players are great, but they aren't going to run practice, game plan, and make sure the kids go to class. Hope Richt can find a balance, cause I sure miss seeing the old guys around.

All true. But after his first year golden wouldn't let us come around anymore. Claimed it was over Shapiro situation

It was the school who stopped the players from the sidelines after the Shapiro fiasco. Good thing, they may have injured Golden and No D

That was not what Onion ran. It was some variation of No D patty cake

Actually, I think Donna banned them from the sideline as sacrifice to NCAA.
