Richt Haters?

Was Richt hired to go 9-4?

No he was not. In fact he got fired at UGA for going 9-4 every year.

in his first year? with roster golden left him that is short on depth and with a lot of players who should of been playing at fau not Miami. yes richt did a great job. id like to point out his successor at Georgia with a series of top 10 recruit classes just went 7-5 , richt got fired for his first 9-4 season in like 5 yrs. he wins 10 on avg and for the most part more then 10

he didn't go 9-4 every year at Georgia. in fact most of the time he went better then that and his team was in sec race till the end. richt is best coach Miami has hired since butch left. and no butch was a bad idea. he didn't even hit fedora level of wins at north Carolina and had ncaa issues on his watch even if he personally was cleared Miami can't hire a guy with ncaa issues in there background.

not the way the ncaa comes after them. richt was a great hire. I would point out most posters on here and elsewhere who love diaz as dc used his hire as dc to say richt was bad hire now say he is mvp and has to be kept lol so what do u know.

Will you folks man up and admit you were wrong about the man? MAN UP and admit your weakness...

You can thank Diaz and the defense again for bailing out richt for the first quarter and a half. He's lucky they were even in the game at that point....so what exactly are we admitting to?

I'm sorry but answer me this

were wide receivers not wide open during that time?

Richt himself is not throwing the ball.. and I'd be running the ball like a mad man myself if kayaa was my qb no matter how bad that o line is

It was year one. He was hired to not go 9-4 every year. If he goes 9-4 every year, fire his ***. Jesus ****ing Christ people. Slightly above average coaches don't do what he did st UGA. Shannon was 5-7 in year one. Golden was 6-6 in year one. Richt matched both of their best years (and won a bowl) in his first year.

I'm not disagreeing with you that he could and hopefully will do better than 9-4 starting next year. I just don't think he's proven much of anything as Miami head coach yet.

He was basically averaging 9-4 at UGA from 2009 on. And the SEC East is even worse than the ACC Coastal.

And no I was not a Bring Back Butch guy. In all honesty I wonder what coach other than Butch Davis and Al Golden wouldn't be able to win a NC with the 2000 Miami roster.

I'm not crowning him or anything. I'm just putting into perspective

He was also one brain fart by Aaron Murray away from winning the national title in 2012 and went 7-1 in the SEC the year before.

The Franchise and friends like to bxtch for attention..... They loved the direction the program was headed under Al Golden.

Fake *** UM fans on this site... The admins took part in the constant challenging and second guessing Coach Richt so that's why this place has devolved into the cesspool that it is bc they let it happen.

I've been saying it since the UNC game and Richt mentioned it in his Pre game presser when a reporter asked him, what got the offense turned around.

He, and staff, had to learn the personnel better. It's easy for us because we know these kids and their abilities in and out. We **** near study them well before they even hit campus.

I think Richts biggest mistake was not reviewing last years game film. Its fair to give kids a clean slate as a new coach. I get that. I felt he needed to separate the Greentree all stars from the guys with consistency on game day regardless of what they did for him on the practice field. I wish he would have caught on earlier but he will be ok. This offense will get rolling year 2 in his system and methodology.

I believe that wholeheartedly.

I think the people saying he should hire an OC or someone more "innovative" to run the offense are being a bit unfair.

They couldn't name one good prostyle OC with who turned an offense around in one offseason WITHOUT a dual threat QB.

Not one.

No need for this thread right now. Everyone is riding the high of strong finish. Richt has areas where he needs to improve and ultimately he wont be proven right until this team wins a national title. But we are taking steps in the right direction. Say what you will about his "big game" coaching this was a big game for where Miami is as a program. We desperately needed that win to validate which direction this team is trending.

I think he has proven is better then last 3 hc 's golden , Shannon or coker with a team at 80 scholarship players with little depth and the schedule Miami had would of been lucky to win 5 games, I just don't understand the fans that expected Miami to compete for a national title year 1 , this team was seen as a 5 or 6 win team based on talent coming into year. richt got team to win games should of won. 9-4 yr one with a bowl win is good. yr 3 it would be a huge disappointment but yr 1 its fine.

Im impressed he got the team turned around after that 4 game losing streak. The team had the mentality before he arrived that the fsu game loss was the end of the season. They would play timid and end the season on losing streak. Im glad he got them out of that slump this year. Next years momentum along with coaching should lead to a 10+ win season.

You are also blaming his play calls on poor o-line play and bad passes. Last night Kaaya skied his first 5-6 balls. Guys were open but he straight up missed. I agree some of his play calling could get better but it does come down to execution too. Walton had very little room all night. They cleaned up the pass blocking and everything clicked. Kaaya got into rhythm and then there was zero complaints about play calls.

We should have won 10-11 games this season, given our relative talent and weak schedule. I'm not crowning some coach for winning 9 games... Gtfo with that.

I don't hate him. I just want him to hire a real OC. Otherwise I have no problem with Richt as HC.

Yep.

He's not the Offensive Coordinator he was at FSU - and needs to just man up and hire a great OC.

As a Head Coach - he's pretty good. But can't call plays for squat - very talented players pull his bacon out of the fire.

I mean yea we should win 12 games with a team with one good corner, needing to play 3 freshmen lbs, and a horrible OL..... Cause you say so

Hard to win 10-11 games with a veteran qb that has admitted to having confidence issues in games.

Coach Richt spoke on that as well..... Regardless its okay to not be a bxtch your whole life.
