Richt had only 2 months to recruit

Check out Shannon and Goldens first classes and get back to me.

Golden left us in great shape recruiting wise already had a bunch of 4 star early enrolls i think most are dissapointed richt couldnt make the class better it actually got worse

people need to stop giving golden and his staff credit for mcloud and richards. they decommited quickly, richt talked mcloud back and richards back even going head to head with bama.

class didn't get worse. lets be honst golden had about 10 project commited that richt just told to go elsewhere didn't want them. guys like phillips and wiggins. the truth is this class is a solid class it has holes but most 1st classes do.

not rushing out signing every 2 star people on this board liked isnt' a bad thing its actually a good thing, miami could have up to 32 spots with ee's available next year depending on what they have for total scholorships avail to get to 85.

truth is this is a high quality class , it is lacking in some areas but those are areas golden had 0 people looking at miami at. the fact we got a dt and ot is all because of richt and staff. golden and them had 0 dt's or ots even looking at miami.

yes richt took some shots but at least his shots were for legit players like shayiem cater and kobe jones and not some unranked or low 2 star like golden would of done.

This class (88.32) was rated higher per player than any of Golden's classes. Also several of these kids are severely underrated.

Shannon first year was his best class and its avg rating was 88.40

Shannon did not have a complete turnover of staff and his class was anchored by Miami Northwestern which was his alma matter and which were all committed firmly before Shannon took over. That class also was lead by 5 stars Arthur Brown and Marcus Fortson who were anything but 5 stars. It also had 32 kids in it. There were more kids in that class that never did anything significant at the U then there are kids in this class all together.

One thing is for sure this class is now up to different standards.

Randy Shannon spent all 4 years at Miami Norland, not at Northwestern. IJS

Actually, I think he transferred to Norland from North Miami HS after his sophomore.
Him and a fellow LB who I believe ended up at f$u.
