Richt can overcome todays failure...

Don’t let the smoke and mirrors of last season’s won-loss record fool you. This is still a 7-5 program.

1000% agree still feels like we are just mediocre.

I'm disappointed about today and really critical of our defensive recruiting, but this is ridiculous. Our recruiting right now puts us in a position to consistently win the Coastal and get 9-10 wins a season. It's just not getting us to the level of title contender. We aren't a 7-5 program and won't be if we continue to recruit at this level.

I watch some of these teams play (Bama, UGA, Clemson, OSU) and they're just faster. Looks like they're in a different gear. We have patches. I thought the ND game we looked terrifyingly fast and athletic. But we're not there yet on a consistent basis. Wouldn't say we are 7-5 team. At least not talent wise and not with our schedule. No doubt, this team should go undefeated next year and at the very minimum, make it competitive with Clemson in the ACCCG. Biggest hurdles will be FSU. which we have at home and I don't think are as talented as last year, and VT in Blacksburg.

this is the bottopm line , with or w/o these blue chip recruits you gotta win the conference, we had the best class in the state

We need to look at taking some TRANSFERS.

I'm not talking about grad transfers, I'm talking about the old school kind, where the kid has to sit a year and then play.

If I were Richt I would take about three or four 4/5 star transfers from the SEC or elsewhere.... there are a few every year and we need to be on top of them.

This team needs a TALENT INFUSION. If you don't get them on signing day, then transfers are your only other option for getting talent in to the program.

I don't give a **** about next year. They can sit out a year for all I care, that's fine. We ain't winning the ship next year anyway. I'm talking about stacking the cupboard for 2020 and beyond when we can really make a run.

Nigel Bethel reminds me more of Sean Taylor. Robert Knowles’ game reminds me more of Ed Reed.

Is it true that bears can smell menstruation? If so DBC should stay away from this site.. the stench here is unbearable.

Apparently consistently getting better on and off the field each consecutive season is now considered failing.

Yeah, this sums it up. I had to back away from CIS since this afternoon to digest the overall class and not lash out about today's disappointment. We're on the cusp of greatness, but until we secure the 5 star blue chip recruits we'll consistently settle for 10-11 win seasons. This past year could have been 11 had we played Ark St. And that's without all the studs we're adding with Storm18 without all that much attrition. Let's all back away from the ledge.

DT is always more important than DB. 7 v 7 gets everyone confused. The game is always about stopping the run and getting to the QB. Notre Dame has Wr open and their QB was too rushed to see them.

But, to get to the playoffs you need both. I am more upset the staff let them visit and clown us. It is one thing if the kid is leaving to get out of town. It is another to have no clue.

I don't think they clowned us. I do think they were actually considering us and wanted to give Miami a chance but...everyojr believes the **** SEC hype and having them in the national title game didn't help.

None of us know, but my guess is that they like Miami and know they could have been great here, but felt that other schools offered something better. I don't think last weekend was about giving us a chance to change their minds (I still find it hard to believe that people don't know where they want to go to school and who they want to vote for. "Undecided" is a myth.) so much as just a fun weekend at a place they like with people they like. It shouldn't make anyone feel any better, but I really think it was no contest due to factors beyond our control.

Interesting. Could've sworn our last 3 final records were 8-5, 9-4, 10-3.
It’ll be more of the same next year after LSU, FSU, and VT all slap us. UVA, Pitt, Clemson and Wisconsin all showed our defense to be frauds.

Disagree with most of your post but this is spot on. I'm actually pretty scared about how bad the defense is going to be next year. I've already had it with Manny after only 2 seasons.

They were bought and paid for before they came, sold off by their daddies to new massa. Nesta is the free man who pick his own new home. He was always the most important one to me because DT is crucial and he showed he was not for sale. I would not trade him for a half dozen PS and TC merchandise type. Nesta showed himself all Cane. Like all his kind, he we be back over and over again as he make All Pro and beyond. Those two chumps will never return to their Georgia and Bama plantations once they take the NFL railroad. Nesta will be family and they will always be without one.
