Richardson goes to see Derrick Green

This kid is already 220+ and runs like a bowling ball. The kid is a monster. Here's why this is good for us.

By the time he graduates, he'll be bigger and heavier than most linebackers in the ACC, and that's good weight. If you can spring him to the second level consistently, he will absolutely wear a defense down. That's CONSISTENT offense.

Oh, why don't they just put bigger kids in at linebacker, you say? Well, then we line up Travis Johnson and Standish Dobard and make their big slow linebackers cover our athletic TE's.

Yes, i have seen his tape. He has 145 carries or so, let's see the rest of them, not the top 20 or 25. His #'s don't stick out in a crowd, that is for sure. Not saying he doesn't look good, but i surely don't think he is head and shoulder better than other SF backs. I think he has matured faster than others, which means some others might have more up side than him. He is certainly not near = to Duke.

Why the heck not? He seems every bit as good as Collins and he plays better competition. He is a back we can use to get that third and one, first down too. Is he really 6ft?

t

Alex Collins is the best RB in the country and it ain't close.

How so? He isn't killing it against easier competition? His line looks ok, so he shoud have at least 50% better numbers than the competition. I just don't see why everyone is crying over this kid. Chestnut and Tice look just as good. Chestnut's line looks better than the others, but that is against much better competition.

Have you seen the tape?

Hopefully this is isn't like past regimes where we ignore some underrated local guys to chase after the prized national guy and end up with neither.

Green is one of the highest-ranked uncommitted players in the country. The schools he is considering are Michigan, Auburn, Tennessee, Miami and Oregon. Fans of each school are sitting on the edge of their seats waiting for Green to make his decision.

"The recruiting process is going well," he said. "Right now, I'm slowing the process down because I'm just starting playoffs but the everything is going well. I just took an official visit to Auburn and Miami is back on the list after I took Virginia Tech off." Green and his family are taking a much more detailed and analytical approach to the recruiting process than many other recruits.

"I still don't know where I want to be but I'm taking some visits and I will sit down with my parents and weigh the pros and cons," he said. "I'm just taking my time with it. Most guys rush the process and commit on the spot and that's not what I'm doing. I'm weighing my options and making sure I make the best decision for my as far as education, playtime and all of that.

"Like I said, I'm taking the process really slow and doing what I have to do to make sure I go to the best school for me"
