Restrepo putting on a show in first round of the playoffs

I love him but I honestly had doubts he could be a Miami caliber WR.

No more. He has made plays against everybody and his explosion translates against FBS athletes.
I am with you D$, but in all honesty if Mike Harley can be pegged as a Miami Caliber Wr and start for us, Restrepo is way more craftier than Harley in HS brother. His lateral quickness is top notch.

I don’t see him playing defense here. We will have a lot of problems for defense to solve at receiver and tight end and running back. Restrepo will be a fckng migraine for a defensive coordinator. Only a few teams in the country are gonna be able to match up in the secondary with us next year.

Reminds me of Sam Bruce great at nothing but good at everything and is a football player..Bring him in and see where he fits in, I want him
Imo he’s More versatile than him though considering how good of a defensive player he is to go along with what he can do as a receiver

Your a huge Restrepo fan huh DMoney. My boy is associated with Florida Fire, he said that he'd take Restrepo over every WR this year. Kid is a playmaker and has no fear. He also added that he gets better in crunch time.

Like i said in another thread i really like the "3star" players. It looks like the staff has done well evaluating those kids.

your boy smokes ROCKS

I don’t believe he’s a Miami caliber player but that’s just me though.

reminds me of Kendall thompkins

you think he’s more versatile solely bc STA didn’t need Sam to play defense.

Part of the problem is this whole ‘miami caliber’ model has been poorly applied and mostly unhelpful. Ryan Moore and Akeem Jolla were ‘Miami caliber.’ So was Lance Leggett. We’ve had plenty of long and fast, long and hops, and medium and quick. It ain’t worked as well as it should have. Maybe we’re missing the focus on some important traits for WR.

Hands for sure. Quickness over speed. Toughness over ‘competitiveness.’ What happens when it gets physical? Blocking, Compulsiveness.

WR is about those things. Little things. If you find a solid athlete with them, bet on him over your ‘UM caliber’ Leggett every time.

Let’s get some guys who can play college ball and worry less about NFL prototypes. JMO.

Also, a WR roster can and should have different sorts of kids by prototype models. Smaller short area quickness guys, tall and long stretch guys, etc. In all instances, kids should have athleticism above a certain level and toughness and hands above a certain level or don’t bother. But from there, what does the kid add?

I don’t know about that last statement. If we played any of the Tier 1 programs they would shut our receivers down.

I must admit that I didn’t read this...its my opinion. Unlike you & 99% of this board..I’ve watched him for 20 plus games now.

That’s why I said a handful. Look at the top 25 teams. How many are really shutting them down? Our o line play and our coaching and qb growing pains have left a lot of our receivers open and many on here have pointed that out. Next year will be even worse for other teams.

I havent criticized your opinion, but this is a discussion board. Part of the point is we have not had many ‘miami caliber’ wrs the past 17 years. So we are clearly doing something wrong. If you think restreppo is a wasted scholarship, ok. You’ve watched him, maybe you’re right.

You make a great point & I’m likely not right..it’s just an opinion. He’s a productive player on the high school level but I don’t necessarily see him being elite at anything. Maybe he doesn’t have to be...he is a football player. I dunno
