Remember when...

You are right, but except for Spence, he was better (at UM) than the other two lbs we landed that class.

Arthur Brown ended up being nice at Kansas State, but was a no show here.
Brown bolted after 1 year..if he stayed he would’ve been a star here with Spence..that 08 class just proved one recruiting class can’t carry a program..it was that 2007& 2009, the class prior and directly after that was very underwhelming and u could point to those two classes as not even close to Miami caliber

That is a fact and just goes to show how Poor the player development was then. That many high ranked kids that didn’t do shot

I don’t think it was player development. In that 2008 class most of the lower rated guys out perform they higher rated. Some guys got complacent and some were overhyped. Some should have never played their freshman year. We should’ve had better assistants as well. A young team with a novice staff. Should have never happened at Miami.

Brown was a Greentree monster here, Randy just wouldnt play him because Glenn Cook was Randy's favorite.

Brown's talent was undeniable. Great guy too. He should have been starting from Day 1, and he showed that by becoming an All-American at K-State

Glenn Cook was a Senior when Brown was a freshman. I think Brown struggled with being away from Kansas.

They've gotten better, but not that much. They still miss lots of studs and they still highly rank guys that end up busts.

There are just too many players across the country for the so-called experts to thoroughly evaluate. And football prospects are much harder to evaluate than say basketball players. It doesn't take much special ability to know that a Shaq, Lebron, Kobe, et al are going to be studs. But football players can to a certain extent be "hidden" depending on where they play.
They got a whole lot better honestly. It’s never gonna be even close to perfect but it’s pretty solid now where as back then it was a ****show.
