I wont disagree with your points while everyone is creaming about Salter he has a lot of work to do,

I pointed it out in the Salter thread if you watch Liberty Games he looks around if his read isnt there he just takes off and runs.

When he does pass its mostly a deep shot. He is accurate at least so it would take a coaching job to get him better with intermidiate throws.

Salter is a 2 year project imo and not a guy who is ready to lead but I would trust Salter more at least he played FBS football... this guy on the other hand is a hugeee risk...

FCS is Division I football.

I said FCS vs. G5 opponents, & u’re cherry picking a game for Salter. UO is a far, FAR superior team than Liberty. Hawaii is not a far superior team than any FCS school that made the FCS playoffs, nor was Marshall this yr.

But I’m curious, why didn’t u choose Salter’s first yr as a starter, 3rd career game against top 25 WF team in 2022 on the road when he went 19/34 for 255 2 TDs 2 ints along w/ 15 carries for 71 yards and 1 TD in a 1 point loss after his 3rd ever career start?

Just to add to this, Salter has 6 interceptions while playing FBS comp. WhatABurger had 13 in the FCS. He also was sacked 50 times I believe. Everyone has their flaws, I was not a Cam Ward fan. Salter has a lot of flaws. But he's definitely the best option on the table right now. I also think he's "above the line". We need to close him (Salter). ... Again, I'd welcome in WhatABurger as QB2. We'd finally have the right depth in that room.

If we are making the case that Div 1 is different that FCS then we need context and not just pick@and choose one player while ignoring his whole FCs team around him. You got the top QB in the portal looking like Malik Rosier out there versus Oregon. Does not mean Salter sucks. Put him in a stacked Div 1 team and he cooks

Because that's the point a two game sample size is clearly not enough data for a dude who had inferior talent all around him. Kid produced against similar talented teams. What would he look like with our OL protecting him?

I 100% agree he is the best available and should be getting the call now especially if he can bring his WR1 with him. I just think its important to point out to the board that Salter needs to be coached up and have patience with him as he is not the veteran we would like.

Im trying to temper expectations as he needs a lot of coaching and development to take his game to the next level. I definately like him

Don't think anyone's content with the reality
But he was brought in to stack the roster with blue chips not a quick fix

So I see worst case scenario he fails to win and the program is left in a 100x spot than it was in.

He will build a complete roster that can compete.

U didn’t give two sample sizes, u gave one. Lol. Listen, I’m not in to the rationalization biz. I said what I said; I’m not a fan of this take. U can rationalize all u want; I’m pretty sure if he commits here, he’ll be considered a “stud.” So I’ll allow CIS to do CIS.
