I don't think many are rooting for him to go elsewhere, but it's an unfortunate possibility because top QBs don't seem to be interested in playing for Cristobal. Nickel was a good early eval and offer, I think he was a low to mid 3 star when he was initially offered and UM was one of his first P5 offers (if not the first). He looks like the real deal and is going to have lots of deep pocketed teams throwing money at him. If Cristobal has another season at or near .500, it will be tough to keep him, especially as 2024 might be the easiest schedule we've had in a long time.

Step up in competition and most people are bigger, stronger, and faster. The speed of the game changes.

Makes the windows to throw into smaller.
The time to throw less. And the consequences of missing on either more severe.

Well we're bringing back the majority of our OL and skill position players. Gotta see how the QB situation shakes out but he probably sees a path to early PT regardless.

Who knows how interested our staff really is? I haven’t heard Dmoney or Cribby saying the staff is drooling over this kid.

I was just saying stop crapping on the kid because of your feelings against Mario. At least do your own objective analysis and watch your own film on him.

Plenty of good QBs have come from unlikely places all over CFB to unsung hero at said university. From Ward who went FCS to Wash State to now wither being drafted or coming to play for the U. To PWO to starter. From lower rated kids beating out 4* or 5* kids.

I’m just saying have your own original thoughts and stop projecting..

I mean this board is just crazy… it went from everybody blowing Mario right before Christmas because of the recruiting class to now he is the worst coach in all of football all of sudden.

Relax and stop overeating to everything in life. It will make things a lot more enjoyable and probably save you from a massive coronary in your 50’s or 60’s.

I was talking about QBs, I have no problem with recruiter Mario in general, except for QBs.

you made a generic comment stating that early pt under Mario isn't resonating and that's false

if you're talking specifically QB's, it's not an intelligent argument because Mario and staff have specifically gone after veteran qb's so they haven't tried to get Dante Moore, nelson, etc. or qb that we were trying to sell "early PT" on

criticize them for missing on ward and valid things but you're criticizing us on missing on players that we haven't gone after, i.e. those who we would be selling "early pt" to

Unfortunately, I fear Mario and Nickel are this past cycle’s Napier and Lagway where we’ll be on edge hoping to just hang on to the kid.

All that ultimately matters is the bottom line. If he “passed” on those guys to whiff on others, that’s his doing. And I know we reached out to other QBs that had no interest in coming here.

I'm in total agreement that this qb search has been a nightmare by the staff

fair to question the decision of who they targeted for sure, but the poster I quoted was making up a narrative that has nothing to do with it

If you are Oz then my apologies. I watched his game against Marshal and say a kid who should never be on Miami’s roster. Nowdo I want him to be Dan Marino-**** yes. But, Mario “the Elite Recuiter” is going to go into next season, which includes games against FSU and UF with poo at the most important position in this game. And I still point out that every D1 game we play next year our opponents will have better QBs than we do. After being a fan for over 50 years, much of which a season ticket holder, I have never seen a coach botch the QB situation as bad as Caveman. With Berlin, Wright, Freeman, Harris, Morris, Kaaya, Rosier, Perry, orKing, this team would win 9 or 10 games next year and beat the gators.
