I think you’re missing the point a little bit. I don’t think anyway is saying that he’s going to be fired. What people mean when they say he’s “done” here is that with another 6-6 or 7-5 season next year the wheels are going to start falling off—recruiting will start to suffer, other programs will start circling like vultures and pick off these top recruits he’s signed the last two cycles, etc.—and he won’t be able to recover from it.They forget that Mario has a TEN YEAR CONTRACT. We are in Year 3, and this isn't Texas A&M, where oil money covers everything. Mario will get until at least year 5 before the seat gets warm, provided things don't go completely off the rails before then. Worst case scenario, Miami pulls a Michigan and makes Mario renegotiate his contract if things don't improve by year 4, but he's not truly in danger of being fired until year 5 or 6.
Because mario is a proven coach that has won a P5 Championship, and NY Bowl and elite recruiter, and Miami Alum, Diaz was a 1st time HC who wasn't getting **** done, and didn't set us up for long term success like mario is. Quite simple. Why does Mario get 5 years but Manny 3?
Fixed it.Because mario is a Miami Alum. Quite simple
Ingredients by themselves do not matter. Until you have an expert put the ingredients together in the best possible way, they're nothing special. This is becoming a really lazy take. We went from an abortion of an offense under Gattis to an offense that finished 31st in the country at over 430 yards per game. We had two of the top three most productive receivers in the conference and have/will return one of the best OL in the country.
The grave mistake the staff made was doubling down on a talented QB that clearly didn't have it between the ears and truly didn't want to be at Miami post-spring. The best result for all parties would have been for TVD to move on when Bama was courting him and pivot to someone like Mike Pratt. They went all-in to keep him and made their bed. When Tyler started stinking up the joint in conference play, the lack of suitable backup reared it's ugly head. The litmus test for Mario/Dawson will be how he responds to new coaching and if he's able to revert back to the QB we saw in '21. Time will tell.
In the meantime, call it circumstantial, poor decision-making/roster construction, etc., but don't for a second tell me that the ingredients aren't there/wouldn't be attractive for the right portal QB.
Imagine being a fan - and especially an alum if you are one - and viewing this as a negative, like you are trying to portray this as. But hey I'm sure you were just being objective here and not a mope, right lol.Fixed it.
Salter...then the rest.I've got him 4th on my remaining QB list. He's got interesting tools but his low completion % is concerning. I dont think it would be a disaster, but we can do worse with what's left on the board lol.
1. Ward
2. Salter
3. Baby Tua
4. Poffenbarger
Salter got dog walked by Oregon. If Ferman replaced Dawson and we ended up winning games with Ferman and he won the Broyles award, we’d have the last laugh.
….we aint winning **** w a kid that got dog walked every time he faced FBS competition. Stop it.
Fixed it.
Salter got dog walked by Oregon.
Salter got dog walked by Oregon.
not disagreeing with you.Salter or Liberty? Because last time I checked, Salter didn't give up 45 points.
