You would be surprised to know how many old school U fans live in Ohio....kids like winning teams at a young age... Buckeyes been heavy in national spotlight from Tressel to Urban.

Wilson admits that he is looking at Miami harder now that Rumph is a position coach on that staff.

“With coach Rumph being at Miami, that does make me look at them more,” Wilson said. “I am familiar with him and I know how great of a coach he is.”

**** I thought his former players hated him.

they sound like ohio state fans.

Jonathan Garvin DE, Lake Worth: offered Monday

"I called the number for Coach Kul(igowski) and we talked for a little bit," Garvin said. "He liked my film and how I performed at the Opening Regional. My grades are good and he saw the frame I have to build on. He coached pro guys and he believes I have that type of potential. Eventually he brought up the offer and I was very excited to hear that. My family was too because they're my biggest fans."

Garvin watched the Hurricanes beat Nebraska in September but he was only lightly recruited by Al Golden's staff. That never diminished his interest in the local program though.

"I always loved Miami, I can't help it being down here," Garvin laughed. "I see the program continuing to get better and reaching where they want in a year, maybe two. They should be back at the top real soon with that swagger everybody talks about."

Garvin is still new at Oxbridge after transferring in from nearby Lake Worth. His junior season was quite a success on the field with 93 tackles, 36 for loss, 9 sacks, 6 forced fumbles, and 1 interception.

Garvin rounds out his ten major offers with Georgia, Iowa State, Kentucky, N.C. State, North Carolina, Syracuse, UCF, USF, and Virginia Tech.

"I'm looking at every single school to understand how they could benefit me and we'll see what happens later," Garvin said. "If I knew where I wanted to go, it would be awesome committing right now. It will take more time though, and checking out places too. I'm going to visit FAU on Saturday and I'll be down at Miami the next Saturday coming up. I might head up to Florida after that, I'm still waiting on that offer but they're interested."

Cesar Ruiz OC, IMG:

Ruiz (6-3, 310) has taken notice of the interest that Miami has shown to this point.

“Miami recruits me hard,” Ruiz said. “The new offensive line coach there recruits me pretty good. They just tell me how they want me to visit and once I see it, I will love it. They tell me that I have an opportunity to come in and play early.”

“They tell me I am one of their highest priorities.”

Ruiz hopes to get down to Miami for a spring practice at some point over the next month.

“I know some of my teammates plan on getting down there for a practice and I might try and get in on that,” Ruiz said.

Ruiz is originally from New Jersey and when he goes home for spring break later this month he hopes to visit some schools close to home.

“During spring break I plan to go back home, so I will be hitting schools like Maryland, North Carolina, Clemson, Rutgers, Temple, and Penn State,” Ruiz said. “It would be good to get a feel for what all the schools are about.

“Education and playing time are big for me,” Ruiz said. “I want to see the depth chart and see what it looks like. Location is not a big deal for me. I will play anywhere.”

Owen Carney DE, Miami Central:

phone and they tell me they offered,” Carney said. “I was real excited because that is a big school. Coach Diaz comes from the SEC and I am excited about his defense. I think it would be a good fit for me.”

Carney visited the UM campus soon after receiving his offer from the Hurricanes.

“It was good to be with the new coaches,” Carney said. “They are some good guys.”

Carney admits he has enjoyed learning about the resume of UM defensive line coach Craig Kuligowski.

“Coach Kuligowski has a great background,” Carney said. “He has put a lot of defensive ends into the NFL. He is one of the best.”

Carney has been recruited by some programs as an outside linebacker. He says Miami is recruiting him to play defensive end.

“I have been working hard on my first step with trying to get off the ball,” Carney said. “I have been working on my lateral movement too because I know I am probably going to have to make that change to outside linebacker in college.”

Carney played is junior season at Miramar, where he played across the defensive line. He transferred to Miami Central this offseason and has enjoyed the move.

“It is a winning tradition there and I am the new guy on the block, but I am building chemistry with the guys and it is great,” Carney said.

Carney totaled 25 tackles, ten tackles for loss, seven sacks at Miramar.

Carney says he currently has a top five of Miami, Duke, Kansas State, Syracuse, and Kentucky. One school he hopes to receive interest from is Ohio State.

“I grew up a big fan of Ohio State,” Carney said. “Jesse Owens went there and I first started being a fan of them with Ted Ginn being there. They were mu childhood school.”

Marco Wilson CB, Heritage:

Wilson played for Rumph at American Heritage and the player knows what he can offer as a coach.

“He is always going to be on top of you to make sure that you are going to do what you need to do,” Wilson said. “He is a great coach that knows how to push his players and get the most out of them. He can give good advice on technique.”

Rumph has made it clear to Wilson that he is an important recruit for Miami in 2017.

“I talk with coach Rumph probably every other day or so,” Wilson said. “The communication is good with him. He just tells me how I am a very important recruit for them and how they need me.”

Wilson admits that he is looking at Miami harder now that Rumph is a position coach on that staff.

“With coach Rumph being at Miami, that does make me look at them more,” Wilson said. “I am familiar with him and I know how great of a coach he is.”

Wilson is working his way back from a knee injury he sustained during preseason camp, prior to the start of the 2015 season. Wilson is back running track and expects to be able to do some football activities soon.

“Everything feels great,” Wilson said. “I am running track now and everything feels good now. I think in about a month I will be able to get back to doing football things, so that is exciting.”

Wilson says he hopes to visit Miami at some point this spring. He plans to also see schools like Ohio State, USC, Oklahoma, and Oregon this summer.

Charleston Rambo WR, Cedar Hill, Texas:

Wide receiver Charleston Rambo (Cedar Hill, Tex.) said his longtime leader, Oklahoma, still has an edge.

The Crystal Ball reads 100-percent for Oklahoma.

"They show me a lot of love. Just the program overall," Rambo said of Oklahoma. "They have a lot of good players committed and I like their coaches."

Rambo said a pair of programs, Notre Dame and Miami, have been in consistent contact.

He hopes to visit both this summer, if possible.

He said Hurricanes Wide Receivers coach Ron Dugans has also made a push.

The Miami visit is one he would like to make his teammate, four-star wide receiver Camron Buckley, who also has the Hurricanes and Fighting Irish in his lead group.

Warren Thompson ( Seffnor, Florida ) WR/ATH (2018) :

An early front-runner has officially emerged in the recruitment of Warren J. Thompson, a 6-foot-4, 185-pound sophomore wide receiver that's made quite the splash on the recruiting trail with recent offers from Miami (Fl), Tennessee and Louisville.
The Miami Hurricanes are one program that wasted no time dishing out an offer and pouncing on this fast-rising athlete, who spent the majority of his Tuesday in Coral Gables for the first spring practice under the guidance of Mark Richt.
Thompson, a product of powerhouse Seffner (Fla.) Armwood, didn't go as far as pulling the trigger and making a verbal commitment, but has officially made it known that the U holds the early advantage in his recruitment.
"The visit was great," Thompson said. "They were very sincere and said I was a high priority to come join the 'Canes. (Wide receivers) coach (Ron) Dugans is an amazing coach, and they also talked about early playing time.
"The campus was great and the atmosphere was amazing. It's a private school, so a small setting. I also like the play style that Miami plays with, which is a good mix of pass and run. Miami is definitely No. 1, and will probably stay that way for quite sometime."

When it was all said and done, what really highlighted Thompson's brief stay with Mark Richt's program in Miami-Dade?
"At the end where coach Dugans and I sat down," Thompson said. "He kept it real with me about Miami, like letting me know what I'm getting into and stuff like that.
"He also stated that he just didn't offer me because of my play on the field, but he also wants to take me under his wing and be a mentor, like that uncle figure."
Thompson still has nearly two years of high school left on his plate, but is there a chance he could shut things down and make an early commitment?
"It's possible, it's possible," Thompson said. "After talking it over with my family and coaches, there's no doubt that Miami is the front-runner for me, but there's still a long way to go. I just want the cards to play out in my favor."
Thompson's next visit will be for Louisville's spring game on April 16.
I wonder where all this hype for Thompson came from. I watched a few Armwood games this year and he never stood out.

Their RB, Brian Sneed is who impressed me on that team. He has a quick burst, and runs hard.
