Recruiting Update 7-9

McDermott and Darling are so highly thought of because of their performances in the spring and summer camps, not because of sophomore highlights. These guys lined up against legit older players and held their own. Obviously game is different but keep things in perspective.
 
Darling plays against way tougher competition week in and week out as compared to Mcdermott. And there are two chances Darling signs elsewhere in 2014!!! And they are SLIM AND NONE!!! He is not going anywhere fellas take it to the bank
 
I think both Darling and Mcdermott will be highly recruited. I like the HLs of Mcdermott. For a 10th grader not bad at all. Both Darling and McDermott were studs at Goldens Camp.
 
must be a down year in Louisiana if Williams is the top player. Dude is like 215lbs soak and wet....he will need a year, maybe 2 before he can start imo.

Not only that, but dude goes to University Lab High School which is literally on LSU's campus lol. Give me Sherit instead....his frame gives him a better chance to contribute from day one.

Pete the problem is we have limited room also. Of course Alabama and FSU are coming after Darling its called recruiting. Sanctions will be done and over by March of next year so he will know what they are. Keep saying Carter will be committing soon you will be eventually correct.

How are those changes to the coaching staff coming along?

LSU has recruited DBs extremely well in recent years....so if they are coming into South Florida for Robinson, that's enough to make me take notice and go back to the film on him. I don't know much about him at this point.

Is a big reason he's headed to LSU because he is close to former Ely player Avery Johnson by chance?

Great every since Georg Mcdonald was named passing game coordinator you will see a more prolific passing game. That was a change. Anything else you need to know? I am here to educate.

Yes, I'm sure that's exactly what you meant when you said there will be changes. That's a promotion, essentially to give a guy a raise.

McDermott not Miami caliber? LOL That was a joke right? Kid will have offers from everyone and will be a top 100 player next year. He is already on 247's top 100. Darling is a beast as well but landed just outside the top 100. Both are studs and both will be Canes.
 
Valid have you seen him play? Not calling you out just curious. I've always assumed these videos to be a really small sample.

So he's a stud because 247 says so? John Theus was a 5* on those sites too but a lot of people (myself included) thought he was extremely overrated. If you're gonna speak condescendingly towards me at least post your own analysis. McDermott is top-heavy, bends at the waist, lacks flexibility and quickness, and he plays OG in HS. That's not a Miami caliber OL to me. Yes he's only a Soph, he's big, and he's the brother of a Cane who has great intangibles, but his highlight film is average.

I'm just sharing my opinion though. My only wish is that people like you evaluate for yourselves and stop reading those recruiting rankings uncritically.
