Recruiting Update 12/14

that is ******* awesome regarding Carter. coaches realize how important that kid is. dude is an elite talent athletically.

I like that since Dillard had a few bad practices in August he "scrubbed out". Has everyone here missed EVERY UPDATE since, when the "sources" now sayhe has gotten in shape and shown a lot of promise? Also...it is 2 months til NSD and we are going to whiff on DT completely? Last year at this time we had never heard of Ivery or Briscoe. The staff will find people.

Thanks, Pete. Starting to have this feeling that we're going to whiff on DL and RB.

DT: Yes, I do not see any impact guys for the third year in a row (2 for Golden and company).
RB: Yes, but that may be a function of trying to go 1 or nothing (Collins) and then the guy from Venice scrubbing out in practice. Staff is scrabbling to cover that up now.

We on the internet don't know even half the guys our staff is looking at and talking to. And at the end of the day, Bryant and Collins may very well end up Canes anyways.

3rd year in a row? The D-line isn't in the shape it's in right now because of the past two years of recruiting. It's in this mess because of the previous 4 years with Randy at the helm. Porter and Robinson are the only DT's leftover from the previous regime? A guy who's been injured since stepping on campus and a guy who finally bought into becoming a DT this year after 3 years at Miami? Golden stepped in and there weren't any DT's committed even though DT was the number one priority. He quickly scooped up Pierre, Grimble, Smith, and King out of necessity. This past class Golden landed Ivery, Moore, and Briscoe. All three of those kids tapes looked very impressive so I don't get where you come off saying for the 3rd year in a row when the past two years Golden's done an amazing job at getting DT's here. Also, this class hasn't even been signed so pump the brakes.

As for RB, you're already labeling Dillard a bust because he didn't have a Duke Johnson like year at RB? Again, pump your brakes. Our coaches our going to scrabble hard to make sure they get guys who fit their system.

Devante commit already before I neg you.

Nice to see our coaches getting crazy with their recruiting and thinking outside the box. I wish Golden would bash some flight attendant over the head in the terminal, steal his clothes, and then deliver Hooks his drink on a flight and lean down and whisper "I need you."

Not to mention the fact that outside of kicker we have the weakest depth at safety.
Bush and Jenkins next year rotating with Rogers and Highsmith and that's it unless a corner bulks up a bit and makes the transition to safety.

Yet another fine job young Ariz. I can't wait to see Bush and Carter roaming center field together in 2 years! Dee Liner might be the greatest football name EVER! Is he a kicker (jk)? That sounds like a great line up coming in. We are going to need a big push after Satan and the Elephants come thru SoFla here in early January. Wasn't McCord a late pull also?

I think its a Plus that on Jan 18th weekend we will be having some of our top commits to try and sway those big time names that still have the Canes in the mix.

It's all fun and games until Michael Barrow is driving by Alex Collins' house at 2 AM.

Or Kieth Bryant goes on a visit to FSU, and when he opens up his suitcase Jethro pops out and tells him if he can't have him nobody can.
