Recruiting rankings

Wrong. Wilfong was loving Plazz a week ago and said expect a bump.

Pruitt got bama offer and the scouting services were hyping him up too.

Mack has been the best player on STA defense all year.

I think Thomas would have got a bump too, but i heard he got hurt again.
Plazz got bumped from an 86 to an 88 on 247. He was outside the top 1000 on the composite when he committed to us and is now at 699. Pruitt’s composite score hasn’t updated 🤷🏻‍♂️ but he’s a 4 star on 247.

Thomas as you mentioned has been injured and his score hasn’t changed. Mack is the one that’s wild. His composite score is like my waistline, up one month and down the next. It’s been volatile since he first got ranked in 4/2022.

Would require 2 maybe sentences 3 max for each player. Rankings will forever be shady.
And they always change which I’m cool with. When they finish their last season in HS I would expect it to change cause of risers and pretenders being exposed. But yea it’s a crap shoot, just trust the coaches who do the best evals and go by that.

I'm less concerned about an overall ranking than I am about addressing glaring needs on the defensive side of the ball.

Portal is where we will find the instant impact players

Recruiting will help to keep building but even someone like Bain who is a stud is just a nice rotational player who is making hit or miss plays… he’s gonna be a stud here but expecting all ACC play out of freshmen is not realistic

Bumping due to (I think) On3 update. Couple of questions…

1. Noticed (even though it’s minuscule) we dropped .01 in average per recruit on 247 composite. Anyone notice any notable changes for our commits on On3 in either a positive or negative direction?

2. Was that On3’s last update, and if so, anyone know when 247’s and/or Rivals/ESPN’s is?

3. Any of our remaining targets see a move in either direction?

4. Anyone know what the difference is between On3’s composite, and 247’s? I was under the impression that composite took into account all of the major recruiting services to a certain %, and yet On3 has us #14 and at an 89.01 average per recruit, compared to 247’s #11 and 89.70 average. We used to crap on On3 but they’re better than Rivals now (I still value 247 the most for sure), just wanted to get a better sense of their formula or process compared to 247’s.

Thanks in advance.

I think the answer to the last question has to do with how they esch weight their individual rankings in the composite. Not a 100% on this, but I recall On3's composite weights every service evenly, while 247's composite is 50% 247 and 50% the other major services.

That sounds about right, so now I understand the On3 hate on here lol.
