Recruiting in the Deep South

Nothing about Auburn cleaning up in Alabama is a positive. Bama has enough pull to recruit all over the country and still be fine, so all we’re going to do is wind up with both programs being good at the same time which is worst case.

We have staff that will laugh at someone calling Freeze a great recruiter. They won't laugh at Auburn recruiting.

I was mocked and scoffed when I told this board that Freeze would make Auburn the real deal in recruiting.

Auburn ran the table for the most part since my last OP update.

OSU will still get theirs of course, also depending on the season they have

But they are in panic mode there (relatively speaking)

Historically we never recruited those areas even in our glory days. We got South Florida boys and plucked Texas, New Jersey & even a few from Cali here and there… You can find a few here and there like Ed Reed and Reggie Wayne both coming from Louisiana the same year but Jimmy and Butch loved Texas in particular.

I’m no expert but I would say Texas is the place to be other than our backyard obviously…

@Zanecane requested a thread to see how our offers do long term to kids in this area. So here we go. Tracking kids we seriously recruited. Not just some random offer. Is it worthwhile or a waste of time to recruit this area of the country especially when you have UM friendly areas like TX that probably could use more focus.

its metro atlanta to me. if you were to say a particular city. Texas is a huge state.

Places we should be...Metro Atl, NOLA, TIDEWATER/DMV, North Jersey,,,, if its Texas its just the dallas metro for me.

Southern Cal all of a sudden is kind of open as Oregon is raiding and for whatever reason USC is focusin gon the southeast. Thats how we plucked Hayden Lowe this class i think we could grab a player every class from so cal now adays.
