This was my fear. Looking through this chat from a month ago - we were still in play for Jeudy. We were in good shape for Herbert, Slaton & Harley. McFarland was a lock and announcing at the UA game. None of that happened. I hoped that we had some strong plan B options in place.

Recruiting is crazy and hard to predict - but it makes it hard to be optimistic about our remaining targets when most of the ones we looked good with a month ago didn't pan out.

McFarland didn't play at the UA game due to an injury. Signs are still pointing to him committing to Miami. Jeff Thomas is going to replace Harley (Thomas is ranked #7 wr in the country). Sucks to lose Slaton but he wants to play defense so he shut down every school that recruited him as an OL...so thats not our fault. Just be patient, it's part of recruiting process.

the reason he didnt announce at the game was because he wasn't allowed to since he wasn't playing in the game. i think his dad something bout him not being able to announce then due to a number of issues

I thinks there are other issues with Slaton beyond him playing defense or BBall. Apparently he thinks a lot more of his his overall skills than the staff does.

Fair enough.

If the staff does not think highly enough of him at either position they shouldn't recruit him.
