We are keeping the guys we want to keep currently verballed to us, a couple may find homes elsewhere that we’re okay with, we’re targeting multiple whales and may get one or two more, we’re especially happy with recruitment of Luke, Mincey, Bailey and K Jackson. Get Bailey and Smith has a lot to think about.

There’s a Sticky Thread called Class of 2024 Updated as of 11/29/23 at the top of the Recruiting Board.

Some additional recruiting tidbits from various “sauces”:

DL: While we recently added a whale to the class in #7 ranked 5-star Justin Scott (a flip from OSU) and we have some great prospects at both DT & Edge in this class (I really like the upside of Artavious Jones & think Russell is underrated), we’re not done on DL yet. At Edge, we got some good ones like Lightfoot, Cole Mac (Alabama record holder for sacks in a season) & Booker Pickett. Still chasing:

5-Star Dylan Stewart (USCe commit & they’ve been struggling bigly),

4-star Kendall Jackson (recent UF decommit which now appears to be a battle between Miami & one of the Miss schools),

Stone (OU commit who was very close to picking Miami),

Armando Blount who committed to FSU & is reclassifying (conversations with UM are ongoing), and

others.

QB: Judd Anderson is committed. He’s played well against good comp in GA. CJ Bailey (Chaminade) was recently offered. He’s had a good year & continued to develop. Tall, fast for his size (4.8 in the 40), good competitor, and has great chemistry with JoJo Trader (committed 5-star WR) and Jeremiah Smith. Things are looking up for us with Smith as (among other things) OSU’s QB is very average, their offense struggled much of the season and fans & people covering their team have publicly made r@cist comments on Podcasts about reasons that Justin Scott chose to flip from OSU to Miami. JJ reacted to those comments on social media. If we could bring in CJ, Jeremiah & JoJo, it would very likely put us on a path to competing for Nattys every year. Imagine us having two of the top WRs ever in South Florida combined with Chance Robinson, Brashard, Jacolby, Ray Ray, Robbie, Chris Johnson, Mark Fletcher, Arroyo, Lofton (who apparently is viewed as one of the best football players nationwide in this class), Kevin Riley, Hellcat (CWH), and our stout OL (which is only going to get better as Francis, Pancake, Kinsler, Tripp & others mature & gel. That would be one fierce offense loaded with impact players & speed. Jeremiah is really intelligent & I’m sure he sees that potential.

WR: Ny Carr is an electric player that we flipped from UGA. Combined with JoJo and Chance that’s a heck of a good WR group. Add Jeremiah & it will be even more special.

DB: Zaquan Patterson is committed & highly regarded. Will likely play a lot of snaps next year. Still recruiting Mincey and there appears to be some real traction there. Would love to get Ellis Robinson but that seems less likely (but Miami is still recruiting him hard). We should also be going hard for Filsaime (UF commit). There are other quality guys committed already & being recruited. Likely need 1-2 safeties in the Portal given that Kam is leaving for the NFL and JWill may as well.

OL: Added massive Juco player Markel Bell & some other potential future maulers. Still recruiting Ahfua & some others. DL is by far the greater need this yr.

TE: Lofton is a stud. Likely looking to add an upperclassmen in the Portal.

RB: Kevin Riley is a stud. Hellcat (CWH) is electric. Still trying to add Lyle (OSU commit) who we have some traction with. He’s a stud & would love for Mario to flip another one from Taint.

It’s shaping up to be a top-5 class. If we add a couple more whales (such as Jeremiah, Stewart, Blount, Lyle, Mincey, Stewart & others), it will be exceptional & set the stage for many great yrs ahead!
