Recruit Remaining You Want The Most And Why?

Remember the olden days when people would list all of these pie in the sky names and Miami would never get any of them. The negativity and the hate was palpable. Guys like @Coach Macho would eviscerate the staff and some would attack him like he was delivering a pox blanket to their home. others, me, would read it and pretend it was all a bad dream but deep down we knew he was right and would go out and kick the neighborhood cat.

Those were the days.

I feel like I am in the twilight zone...

Okunlola

Bookend 3 year starter.

The guys I really wanted in this class have already popped.....POPO Aguirre, Robby Washington, Mauiga, Williams, Jayden Wayne, Rashada....its been UNREAL for me this cycle.

nearly every single national championship team in the last 30 years had an elite OL.

like wtf are you talking about brother
LSU didn’t, Clemson didn’t, FSU didn’t, Auburn didn’t

The only one you can say is Bama but they have elite everything. UGA Dline > UGA online.

None of the top OTs in the NFL have led there team to the championship but one or two but of the top Dlinemen have .

UGA OL > Stetson Bennett

2019 LSU offensive line literally won the Joe Moore award

Not sure I’d say Clemson and FSU had ELITE lines, but they absolutely recruited well at OL. Georgia has also recruited at an elite level on the offensive line since Kirby Smart took over.

Not really trying to argue here, but you need to recruit elite talent at OL, and the trenches in general. Only thing that can compensate for an OL that isn’t made up of elite talent, is a highly elite QB.. which is pretty rare. I will say that Clemson had a crazy run at QB and are still loaded at the position

It also matters what you run offensively. Yes, your OL matters just a little less if your QB is getting rid of the ball in 2 seconds, and you don’t run downhill a whole lot.

Based on what Mario wants to run, I would think having an elite OL is a must.
But I do agree with you that given the choice between elite OL or elite DL I’d take the latter.

Good news is, with Cristobal we will have both. Just give it time.
‘24 could be the breakout DL class. And DL generally are more play ready than OL. So won’t have to wait 2-3 years for the payoff.

Changing my answer.

I actually think Hykeem is the #1 priority. We need a big time X reciever and he's the guy.

Then Hicks, Samson, McClain, Bain, Harbor

I feel good enough about our OL recruiting so I feel I don’t need to list Okunlola but we don’t have much traction (at least publicly) with true interior guys on D.

1.) We need interior DL every cycle, several of them actually. He is an immediate impact guy that would take us to another level. We will be good on the edge, fixing our 2nd level problem as well but we need a true hoss inside.
2.) Would feel great to stick it to TAMU and get the #1 player in TX.
We need to go to one of his games this year.

Pancake 💯 fix the oline with the qb stable we have plus some weapons and we will get whoever we want with the type of numbers we would be putting up
