In the off season I had Kirby pegged as the next superstar LB on this team. I love his game. I was disappointed he wasn't able to crack the starting rotation which turns out to be a common mistake by our fans. We've got legit depth allowing our younger guys to do their thing. Seeing backup LB like Kirby and Figs(sorta backup I know) reminds me of the good old days when our backups would be out there ****ing people up.
That was first time I've seen Kirby play fast at UM. I think the light is finally on for him. He was all over the place and showed the explosiveness that he's always had but never showed. That could be a turning point game for him.
It's nice to see Miami able to bring players along slowly instead of throwing them into the fire. We're going see a **** load of Kirby against GT and some crushing blows I think.
Funny Morris mentioning the dirty play. I was commenting to my wife during the game how after the tackles I'd swear the USF defender still be twisting the leg/ankle of our guy as he was getting up and breaking contact. --- on more than a few plays.
And I started paying attention to what they were doing after it seemed they were indeed targeting heads, especially Duke's, and felt it was a little dirty. That said, the targeting towards the upper body/head seemed to be so consistent I wonder if their coaches are just flat out teaching them to hit that way rather than intentionally trying to be dirty.
Do I at least get credit for calling Aaron Lynch, A-aron?Boromir? 2005 called and wants their meme back.
Negged.
