You all realize how few underclassmen make a significant impact at this level? The fact that we are having to rely on so many Frosh, RFrosh, and Sophomores is testament to how thin and untalented we are. Our starting MLB's only other offer was from Buffalo IIRC. Armbrister was an unranked project. Cornelius was a 3 star kid.

Please explain to me how much deeper, talented and experienced Duke and Maryland's defenses are

Maryland gave up 68 to FSU, 38 to Wake, and the same amount of points to UVA as Miami's did.

Jimmy Gaines looks like he's running in quicksand. And filling the wrong holes half the time.

These guys are not athletic and they lack instincts. It's sad to watch.

I'm not excusing the defense, that's terrible too. I was hoping this year would be different, but the D hasn't progressed. Do when you have poor talent and bad schemes you give up 40 pts and 500 yards.

If they get a new DC the next couple years will see an influx of talent and we should see giant improvements.

Exactly. If we're still playing ****** players that's the coaches choice and responsibility. We still have these terrible seniors playing while we have athletic specimens like Carter, Kirby and Figs riding the pine. Why?

I really would have preferred to see Kirby with DP ad Figs play all year. They are much more athletic and aggressive than the guys that I mentioned.

These South FL kids do not belong in a Slow 10 defense.

There is nothing else that needs to be said here.

Put these kids in a position to be aggressive and attacking.

God knows we now have the offensive skill sets and players (sans a regressing Morris) to get into a shootout every once in a while. Playing this soft-*** bend/don't break defense leaves these guys out there 50-65 plays on average per game...which WAY too much.

If you're aggressive, you'll get beat from time to time, but at least you'll also FORCE mistakes and HOPE for mistakes.
