Realistic Class Prediction

I love what we did in the 2018 class and are doing in the 2020 class so that’s evidence they can recruit. The 2019 cycle is just weird to me the fact that guys like Kenny mcintosh and mark Anthony Richards two legacies whos brothers have had a lot of success at Miami aren’t committed already or planning to anytime soon is mystifying to me. Just seems like something is off with this cycle, oh well
There are chiefs, and there are indians.

All I care about adding are (no particular order):

MAR-elite athlete and difference maker no matter what position he ends up at
Neal-elite tackle prospect
Summerall and/or Weaver-Can't have too many hunters at DE
Ingraham at DT to get our numbers better at that position

I've already written off Bogle to SEC money bags. Stevenson too.

I think the above class is a top 15 class and I'm actually y fine with that. You will have a top 10 class with Storm 18, top 15 class with Surge19 and maybe a top 7 class with Cat20 you have plenty of talent there to win. The recruiting talent is coming back to Miami levels. Even though we may be missing on the top guys because of bag game, we are still getting plenty of ballers. The most important thing imo is player development. We look at the Coker /Shannon years and early on they had amazing classes full of 5 star and blue chip studs that were not developed. Those classes had so many busts that it was depressing. We let a bunch of great players go to other places (Louisville comes to mind) and ball out while we were chasing divas and stars.

Richt has a strategy that I think will pay dividends in the long term. He along with the staff are identifying the talented D-1 players that are not being thrown 100k by the other programs and making them a priority . Because if you can get hungry kids from Northwestern, Carol City, Booket T, South Dade ect, while creating a pipeline with IMG and St. Thomas, and developing them, then I don't care who UGA, OSU, or Bama get, we will compete with those big boys. Heck I see UGA amassing a bunch of 5 stars and buying everything and thats nice... it must be fun collecting those highly coveted guys. But games are not won in July, you have to DEVELOP your players , something Smart is yet to prove. I take my florida boys with a chip on their shoulder with those top blue chip dudes that stay home ( hopefully MAR/Summerall/Neal/Mac/Crowley/Huff) over 5 star divas that are bag chasers and will probably not get the proper coaching anyways.
I most definitely agree with this. Missing on Stevenson, Richards, Bogle, and Neal however would hurt. I just dont see anything that other programs can offer those guys that we cant outside a bag of course.

I believe that Richt's master plan consists of the strategy outlined above combined with a handful of 5 star type studs like those i just listed. Also I think that every year as the program continues to grow and add UM caliber talent, speed and depth we will find it easier to hold onto those few elite local big name players like Stevenson, MAR etc.....

If we can close this class out with the 4 studs I listed above we will have signed another top 10 class. We need to keep in mind that the type of season we have in 2018 will be a major factor in terms of how we will close out the 2018 class. I think that many of these kids are going to be blown away by what they see from Miami this year. When its all said and done, I think we will see another top 10 class as we add a few big time players and as the currently committed 3 stars blow up in their senior years and their stock rises significantly.

I agree with you give me MAR and Neal always thought those were the two we would get regardless. Imo also the two most important. MAR can play secondary and Boygle can be replaced by weaver/sumerall

I fully trust the evaluation of the staff. Recruit guys that have the Miami Mentality in them and watch them develop over their time here... CMR is no slouch when it comes to evaluating guys, and the assistant coaches showed that they can develop talent.

QB -
RB - Crowley, Macintosh
WR - Payton
TE - Hodges
OL - Tarquin, Eguakan, Neal, Moore
DL - Williams, Weaver, Bogle, Munoz, Ingraham, Holley, Daxon
LB - Huff, Solomon, Brooks
DB - Brownlee, Smith, Nunn, Dixon, Richards, Couch

The 3 most important positions on a football team are QB, OT, and DT.

To not sign a QB, miss on the best LT in the country, and miss on basically all the top targets at DT (for the 300th year in a row, minus Nesta) would be very disheartening. And we're not taking a QB, nor getting any of the highly ranked DTs, so to me this class is made or broken with Evan Neal.

He's the best LT prospect I've seen in a long time, and is a plug and play 3 year starter at the 2nd most important position on your offense. I don't know how, but they HAVE TO get him. Him not in the class and it's a failure IMO.

Also that class would rank somewhere around 10-14, which is where I've been saying is the best we can hope for at this point. And that's fine. You can accomplish all your goals with what we got in 2018, a top 12ish class in 2019, and what we all expect to easily be a top 10 class in 2020.

If there was ever a time to play the bag game with just ONE recruit it has to be Neal. I agree with you, this is the one guy we cant lose... Bag him , tell him.he's a 3 year starter, get Mckinnie to mentor him I dont care, we cant lose Neal.

Maybe they’re drained from the 2018 class lol. But I definitely expected more juice than this.

This is an attempt to create a realistic class prediction. I am taking into a account the bag game.. so without further ado.. here is my attempt to be as objective as possible:

Qb?
Rb

Crowley
Mcintosh
Wr
Payton
ATH
MAR
TE
Hodges
Zipperer*
OL
Tarquin
Eguakan
Neal*
DE
Harvey
Williams
Summerall AND/OR WEAVER*
DT
Munoz
Ingraham
Holley
Daxon
LB
Huff
Brooks
Solomon
DB
Brownlee
K. Smith
Couch
Nunn
Good
Dixon*

* Means I'm not too sure about those guys... 50/50 guys

I think this is a realistic shot at #Surge19 and guys like MAR, Neal, Weaver/Summerall will give us blue chip like talent at positions of needs with very talented Florida players that can be developed into B+ or A- type players.

I see guys like Brownlee, Nunn and Dixon along with Harvey and Williams becoming A- type players here with our strength and conditioning and player development program. In all a B+ class after an A Storm18 with a possible A to A+ talent wise with Cat20 coming up boys.

So you're saying Bohgle is gone?

So you're saying Bohgle is gone?
I mean Im not "reporting" that he is gone because Im not an insider, but I think we don't land him. Too much flirting with the $EC and if bags are dropped it's over. But would love to be wrong.

Just keep as much of SoFla home as possible year in and year out and we'll be rolling. We'll grab a once in a blue moon kid like Richard's but the bag game is going to take the few super elites. It is what it is.

Not Counting current commits I believe we will finish with
RB - Macintosh
WR - Haselwood (where there's smoke....)
TE - Zipperer
OL - Neal
DL - Weaver, Ingraham, Blissett
DB - Nunn, MAR, Battle

I personally believe Bogle will be a Cane, as well as Neal and MAR. Not going out on limb here, just think we are in great position for all three.

Need a Qb, need 2-3 more OL, maybe another LB depending on if Shaq and/or Pickney leave, and another d end aside from Weaver (Summerall or Bogle)

There is virtually no smoke to believe we actually sign him, at least not to that level. IS he interested? Yeah but we got a long way to go to take Georgias spot as his school but that’s jmo
