And while people here will tell you that's an excuse (after telling us how easy our schedule is because a bunch of teams are breaking in new QBs), it's really just a reality.
A defense improving because it's been so historically bad that it's almost impossible to be worse isn't an accomplishment and I hope the powers that be are smart enough to see this. Also, the last two Heisman winners have been redshirt freshmen. That's not an excuse either.
