Real Question Should Golden Redshirt Rashawn Scott or Not?

If he can help us you play him. Who's to say he uses that fifth year anyway? Besides, he's already played this season and can't med redshirt until after his fourth year is done. If he's as good as we think he is he may be gone in three.

Play him. Immediately. If he can help you beat FSU and/or VT, we go to a place we haven't been in a long time. You don't save those opportunities.

I sure wish that dumb fck Coker would have played Gore (who wound up not using that extra year he was saving for him anyway) in the Fiesta Bowl because he was ready to go.

You said it in your other post. 1 single play to win 1 game that contributes to our objectives makes it worth it.

It's been a decade since we played in a BCS game, right? In South Florida, after a time period of greatness, we spent the next decade eating ****. We couldn't even "cheat" well. Sometimes reminding ourselves of that is very important.

Why? We had Payton.

He's almost ready to go, we're not gonna redshirt a guy who's gonna help us in the most crucial part of our schedule, this is not a throwaway season were 5-0...we're gonna need Scott down the stretch against F$U, va tech, in the acc champ game and in Pasadena

At 6'2 205 Scott is our most physical WR and can go up and snatch the ball at it's highest point. Before he was suspended the last 3 1/2 games he was our biggest playmaker. I don't think he is fully healed yet and probably won't be until after the season. Golden has a tough decision to make to waste a year on a 70 percent Scott or sit him out and he still has 2 years left. WR core in 2015 could be lethal with a RS SR Scott, SR Waters, JR Coley, RS JR Lewis.. With Langham, Griffin, and most likely Berrios and Dixon as well...

We need somebody to lay a vicious crack back against Larmarcus Joyner.

Do we have that option in any case? Scott is not eligible for an actual redshirt because he has played in a game this year. The petition for an extra year medical reasons is subject to approval by the NCAA. I think you really have to prove that you were incapable of playing for the remainder of the football season to get that. If someone knows more about this, maybe they could clarify.

do you mean a "regular" redshirt or a medical redshirt. if the former, he cannot qualify for one because he has already played one play. if the latter, he from what i understand would have to apply for one after all of his eligibility is done.

That's what I thought. I also thought that his chances for the medical exemption would be extremely questionable if he really could have played but was merely held out of the last few games in the hope of extending his eligibility.

There is no point to "saving him for next year" because he's already played this year. We'd just be wasting his eligibility.

There is a misconception on this site that you can still redshirt someone after he has played in a game. This view has been debunked numerous times, but it is like the vampire that keeps coming back to life.

Wait. Gore was ready? No bull****?

Gore was ready. C0cker didn't play him because he didn't want to blow his RS.

Scott would be able to get a Medical Redshirt but looking at the new depth chart i'm assuming he's playing on Thursday night...

Wow. Did not know that.

Hate that shriveled gnome even more now. That trip almost ruined Tempe, AZ for me.
