- “It was great once again seeing my guy,” Pringle said. “Coach (Merritt) is always great. Can’t wait to get there in two months so we can work together.”
- Pringle’s relationship with Merritt began while Merritt was the running backs coach at USF and continued after he was hired at Miami this year. Pringle said Merritt has played a large role in keeping him locked in with Miami over the last seven-and-a-half months.
- “(The relationship) has grown a lot,” Pringle said. “I’ve had a relationship with him since he was at USF, so it’s grown a lot in the two years. We’ve got a two-year relationship. I’ve met his family, and he’s like an uncle now.”
- Pringle has brought large numbers of family members to campus during his trips to campus for his unofficial visit, Miami’s end-of-summer recruiting cookout and games this fall and has introduced much of his family to Merritt, who he said has made a strong impression on them time and time again. He’s also stayed in contact with head coach Mario Cristobal, who has repeatedly expressed his excitement to bring Pringle to Coral Gables.
- “He’s a promising dude,” Pringle said. “He does whatever he says he’s going to do. He’s very honest and he believes in you. He treats you like you’re family.”
